Zoë Izabella Massie, 20, passed away in her sleep Tuesday, December 6th, 2022, in Denison, Texas, after a 6-year battle with epilepsy. Zoë was born December 13th, 2001, in Denison, Texas to David Alexander Massie and Ashlee Lynn Wortham. She grew up in Denison and was raised by her paternal grandparents Michael and Valentina (Womack) Massie.
Growing up she loved spending time with her family and friends. She picked up reading early and was reading before kindergarten. Zoë excelled all through school, and loved playing the clarinet and saxophone in marching, honors, and the jazz bands. When she turned 18, she withdrew from public school, enrolled in Texas Success Academy graduating early and with honors in 2020. After graduation she started to work at Dillard’s department store as their Lancôme girl, where she later became Counter Administrator for Lancôme. She worked at Dillard’s until her death. She loved old things, whether it be music, vintage clothes, furniture, or people. During high school she volunteered at a local nursing home and animal shelter because she loved helping the elderly and animals. Her favorite musician was Dolly Parton. She always said she was born 84. Zoë enjoyed spending time with her cat Bunny.
She was her baby. She knew the injustices of the world but kept on. She understood everything at a very early age. She was always just herself. Zoë was too good and kind for this world. She always knew how to get the best out of you. Her light could always reach your core, and her smile would always pick you up if you needed it. She left us way too soon. She was deeply loved and will be forever missed by many. Zoë is survived by her beloved cat Bunny, her parents, paternal grandparents, uncles Michael Massie II, his girlfriend Anna (Carden) Palmer and their son Deklyn, Erik Massie and his daughter Fhey; sisters Parker Hensley and Athena Rodriguez; brother Xavier Rodriguez; grand uncle Steven Womack, grand aunt Constance (Womack) Grigerek and husband Grant Miller, great grandparents Kenneth and Mary (Abbott) Bise; uncles Joe Haley and Ethan Trevino; maternal grandmother Melissa Haley, and great grandmother Shirley Freeland, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
