Vincent Ray Owens

Vincent Ray Owens, 53, of Pottsboro, TX, was welcomed home by his Lord and Savior on August 22, 2022. He was born October 24, 1968, in Dallas, Texas, to Ronnie and Linda Owens. From a young age, Vincent was an overachiever, full of curiosity, humor, wit, and most importantly, a profound love for the Lord. As a student, he excelled in athletics, participating in Varsity football, basketball, and track as a freshman. He was even accepted to Texas State University to play football. He and his wife, Misty, met on June 18, 1987 and married one year later, on June 18, 1988. They raised five children together and never spent a day apart. He was a dedicated employee of Texas Instruments and Air Liquide for 32 years as he raised and supported his family. Vincent loved the outdoors. Whether he was landscaping, stargazing, or simply admiring the view, he always appreciated nature’s beauty. He enjoyed all sorts of music and always found interest in crime mysteries and supernatural events. He was a true detective at heart. This time of year, would always be something he looked forward to, as he enjoyed keeping up with Texas high school football. Vincent never passed up a chance to tell his children how proud he was of them and encourage them to keep working toward their goals. He adored his grandchildren who lovingly referred to him as their “Pops”. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 34 years, Misty Hembree Owens, mother, Linda Owens, children: Megan, Darius, Maxwell, Darian, and Ashland, sons-in-law Klint and Noah, daughters-in-law Andrea and Sarah, grandchildren Kopeland, Vivian, Avaree, and Jayne, sister Rhonda Creekmore and family, brother Rodney Owens and family, sister-in-law Desiree Hembree Frye and family, father-inlaw Dewayne Hembree, and good friend Dale Marksberry. Previously departed loved ones include his father, Ronnie Owens, brother, Rueben Owens, and mother-in-law, Elayne Hembree. Vincent’s family would like to extend many thanks to all of those that have extended love, prayers, and kind words during this time. They especially want to thank his coworker and friend, Dale Marksberry, for all of his support and guidance throughout the past few weeks. Those that had the opportunity to truly know Vincent, were blessed. He will forever be missed and loved by his family and friends; but we are incredibly thankful for the time God allowed us to have with him.
