TxDOT plans for overnight closures on Texoma roads

Texas Department of Transportation officials today announced that a series of overnight closures are slated this week at the intersection of US 75 and US 82 in Sherman, Texas.

These temporary overnight closures are necessary to complete the bridge replacement work at this intersection, officials said. Message boards and signs will guide travelers around this work via signed detours.

The temporary overnight closures will begin at 7 p.m. on the following dates, and the roadway will reopen to regular traffic flow by 6 a.m. the following day. These temporary closures will allow work crews to place new bridge beams at this intersection, officials said.

The overnight closures will occur on these dates:

May 8: US 75 northbound frontage road between the east- and westbound US 82 frontage roads. Northbound traffic will detour along the eastbound US 82 frontage road to Loy Lake Road, and return to the US 75 northbound frontage road by way of the US 82 westbound frontage road.

Eastbound US 82 mainlanes will also be closed at this time. Eastbound US 82 mainlane traffic will detour to the eastbound US 82 frontage road at Exit 642.

May 9: US 75 northbound frontage road between the east- and westbound US 82 frontage roads. Northbound frontage road traffic will detour along US 82 eastbound frontage road to Loy Lake Road, and return to the US 75 northbound frontage road by way of the US 82 westbound frontage road.

US 75 southbound frontage road between the east- and westbound US 82 will also close at this time. Southbound frontage traffic will detour along the westbound US 82 frontage road to North Travis Street, and return to the US 75 southbound frontage road by way of the US 82 eastbound frontage road.

US 82 westbound mainlanes will also close at this time. Westbound US 82 mainlane traffic will detour to the westbound US 82 frontage road at Exit 642.
