Victim pays computer scammer $3K; other police reports
Theft - On June 26, a male came to the Sherman Police Department to make a theft report. The male advised he fell victim to a computer scam. The victim paid over $3,000 dollars for a service which did not exist. A report was completed for theft of property $2,500<$30K.
Theft - On June 26, dispatch received a call from a female in the 1000 block of S Charles St. The caller advised her boyfriend stole her car keys. She advised the amount to replace the key was over $100. A report for theft of property $100<$750 was completed.
Found property - On June 26, officer took a report in the 1000 block of S. Charles Street regarding a found handgun.
Driving while intoxicated - On June 26, officers responded to the area of E. Lamar Street and S. Willow Street in reference to a motor vehicle crash. During the crash investigation, Officers determined one of the involved drivers was intoxicated. The suspect was arrested for driving while intoxicated. A report was generated.
Assault - On June 26, Officers were dispatched to the 800 block of N Sam Rayburn Freeway, in regards to a possible disturbance. Officers arrived on scene and spoke with all the involved parties and discovered an assault occurred during a road rage incident. An assault causing bodily injury report was generated.
Assault - On June 26 Sherman officers responded to the 300 block Archer Dr. in reference to a disturbance. The investigation revealed several people were involved in a disturbance that spawned from a male subject driving his motorcycle recklessly up and down the road. One male threatened to physically harm the driver of the motorcycle. An Assault by Threat report was generated.
Driving while intoxicated - On June 27, Sherman Dispatch received a call in reference to an accident in the 300 block of W McGee Street. A vehicle was traveling westbound and collided with a parked vehicle. Officers arrived on scene and observed signs of impairment by the driver. The Standardized Field Sobriety Test were administered to the driver. The suspect was arrested. A report for driving while intoxicated was generated.
Driving while intoxicated - On June 27, Sherman officers conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle on southbound US HWY 75 near Park St. The investigation revealed the driver of the vehicle was intoxicated. The suspect was placed under arrest. A driving while intoxicated report was generated.
Assault - On June 27, officers were dispatched to the 2300 block of W Taylor Street, in regards to a possible disturbance. Officers arrived on scene and spoke with all involved parties. After speaking to the involved parties one claimed an assault. An assault causing bodily injury to a family member report was generated.
Accident involving damage - On June 27, officers responded to the 1100 block of E. Rosedale Street in reference to a hit and run accident. Officers learned an off-road vehicle crashed into a passenger car. The operator of the off-road vehicle fled the scene. No injuries were reported to the police. A report was generated.
Criminal mischief - On June 27, Sherman Dispatch received a call in reference to a basketball goal in the middle of the street. The caller advised the basketball goal was damaged and believed she knew who damaged it. Officers arrived on scene and learned who the caller believed damaged the basketball goal. A report for criminal mischief $100<$750 was generated.
Unlawful carrying - On June 28, Sherman PD officers were dispatched to the area of S US 75 NB / Houston St in reference to an intoxicated driver. The vehicle was located and a traffic stop conducted. The driver was found to be in possession of drugs and a handgun. Reports were generated for unlawfully carrying a weapon, possession of marijuana under two ounces and possession of a controlled substance penalty group three under 28 grams.
