SPD receives series of burglary, theft reports; other police reports

The Sherman Police Department released a series of reports taken over the weekend.

Sherman Police

Theft - On Friday, Sherman Police were dispatched to the 800 block of E. Chaffin St for a stolen vehicle. The victim had started his car while it was parked on the street. He went back inside his house for an item, when he returned the car was gone. A theft report was generated and the investigation is ongoing.

Theft of mail - On Friday, a male complainant made telephone contact with an officer regarding a theft. The complainant stated an unknown suspect stole property located in the 500 block of West Birge Street in Sherman Texas. The incident occurred on Friday. A theft of mail under 10 addresses report was generated.

Burglary - On Friday, a male complainant made telephone contact with an officer regarding a theft from a vehicle. The complainant stated an unknown suspected stole property located in the 500 block of South Charles Street in Sherman. The incident occurred between Thursday and Friday. A burglary of a vehicle report was generated.

Assault - On Friday, officers were dispatched to the 1500-block of East Magnolia St in regards to a disturbance. Officers arrived and spoke with both parties. A mother and daughter had gotten in a verbal argument, and one of the parties reached out and slapped at the other. No injuries were sustained during the event. A report was generated for assault by contact family member.

Burglary - On Friday, Sherman officers responded to 317 S. Travis St. in reference to a burglary of building. The investigation revealed two males repeatedly entered a residential property multiple times over several days. The suspects entered a shed and stole several items. A burglary of a building report was generated.

Theft - On Friday, officers were dispatched to the 400 block of East US Highway 82, in regards to a possible theft in progress. Officers arrived on scene and learned that the suspects left the area prior to their arrival. The suspects stole several hundred dollars worth of baby formula which was later recovered. A theft of property $100<$750 report was generated.

Assault - On Friday, officers responded to the 600 block of Loy Lake Road in reference to an Assault. The complainant advised she was assaulted while delivering pizza and was offended by the contact. A report was generated for assault by contact.

Duty on strike - On Saturday, a Sherman officer was dispatched to a business in the 1600 block of East Lamar in reference to a hit and run accident. The caller advised a Hispanic male drove his vehicle into the side of the business and then left the scene on foot. A report was generated for duty on striking a fixture/highway landscape under $200.

Burglary - On Sunday, an officer responded to the 800 block of E Rosedale in reference to a criminal mischief. During the investigation, the officer learned an unknown suspect made entry into an unlocked vehicle and removed property. The suspect left property behind in the victim`s vehicle, believed to be from a separate vehicle burglary. An offense report was completed for burglary of vehicle.

Burglary - On Sunday, an officer responded to a residence in the 800 block of S Hazelwood St in reference to a burglary of a vehicle. Investigation determined property was removed from the vehicle during the night. A report for burglary of a vehicle was completed.
