Denison, Sherman police release crime reports

Sherman and Denison police departments released information about reports taken over the last week.

In the past week, the Denison Police Department received more than 400 calls for service.

The call log released by the department included information about thefts, burglaries, suspicious activity, noise and animal complaints and traffic violations.

Denison Police

Between June 11-12, DPD received 92 calls for service.

Those calls included reports of 14 calls about suspicious activity. 17 of those calls were related to traffic stops.

Five of those calls were related to possible thefts, and the police performed 4 welfare checks during the time period.

Between midnight Saturday morning and 8 a.m. Monday, the Denison Police Department received 196 calls for service.

Thirty-one of those reports were for traffic stops. Seven calls were for welfare checks.

Twenty-two calls were to report disturbances, and nine were for burglary alarms.

There were 18 calls about barking dogs, animals and noise complaints.

Between Tuesday at midnight and 8 a.m. Wednesday, the police received 107 calls for service.

Twelve calls were to report suspicious activity, 16 reports were for traffic stops and six calls were about burglary alarms or possible burglaries of habitations.

Five calls reported disturbances and seven calls were misdials. There were two follow-up calls.

Sherman police

Burglary of a vehicle - On Tuesday, a male complainant made telephone contact with an officer regarding a theft. The complainant stated an unknown suspect stole property from a vehicle located in the 2300 block of West Taylor Street in Sherman Texas. The incident occurred between June 12-14. A burglary of a vehicle report was generated.

Burglary of habitation - On Tuesday, officers responded to the 900 block of Brentbrook Lane. in reference to a burglary. Upon arrival, Officers determined a residence had been burglarized by an unknown person. A report for burglary of a habitation was generated.

Assault - On Tuesday, Sherman officers were dispatched to the 300 block of S. Heritage Pkwy in reference to an assault. Evidence was located showing an assault occurred. The offender was no longer on scene. A report for assault causes bodily injury family member was generated.

Public intoxication - On Tuesday, officers responded to a business in the 4200 block of N US 75 SB in reference to an intoxicated person. Officers determined the suspect was intoxicated to a point he constituted a risk to himself and others. The suspect was arrested for public intoxication and a report was generated.
