Man shoots himself in leg; other police reports
Information report - On Friday, Sherman officers responded to the 500 block N. Highland Ave. in reference to a male with a gunshot wound in the emergency room. The investigation revealed a male accidentally shot himself in the leg with a firearm at his residence, resulting in injury that was not life threatening. An information report was generated.
Driving while intoxicated - On Friday, officers conducted a traffic stop in the 1800 block of N. Loy Lake Road. During the stop, officers determined the driver was intoxicated. He was arrested and transported to the Grayson County Jail.
Possession of marijuana - On Friday, Sherman officers conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle in the 300 block N. Heritage Pkwy. The investigation revealed the driver of the vehicle was intoxicated, in possession of a firearm, in possession of marijuana, and had an invalid driver`s license and no insurance on his vehicle.The driver was placed under arrest and transported to Grayson County Jail. A report for driving while intoxicated second offense, unlawful carrying of a weapon, possession of marijuana under two ounces and driving while license invalid with previous convictions or suspensions without financial responsibility was generated.
Unauthorized use - On Friday, officers took a report for a stolen vehicle in the 700 block of E. Cherry Street. The suspect was later found in possession of the vehicle and arrested for unauthorized use of a vehicle.
Driving while intoxicated - On Friday, Sherman Dispatch received a call in reference to a suspicious vehicle in the 500 block of N Heritage Parkway. Officers arrived and spoke with the driver of the vehicle. The driver displayed multiple indicators of being intoxicated. Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were administered to the driver. He was arrested. A report for driving while intoxicated was generated
Theft - On Friday, a female complainant made telephone contact with an officer regarding a theft. The complainant stated an unknown suspect stole property located in the 500 block of Kessler Boulevard in Sherman Texas. The incident occurred between June9-12. A theft of property under $100 report was generated
Found property - On Friday, officers were dispatched to a business in the 3900 block of North US Hwy 75 in reference to a bag being located in the parking lot which contained miscellaneous property. The property was collected by police and was taken to the police department for safekeeping.
Aggravated assault - On Friday, officers were dispatched to the 1800 block of E Houston Street in regard to a disturbance in which the suspect had a gun and was threatening to shoot people. Officers arrived on scene and spoke with the victim and the caller who advised the suspect pointed a gun at the victim and said he was going to kill him. The suspect came outside and went into custody with no issues. He was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and a report was generated.
Assault - On Friday, officers responded to the 2800 block of S. Travis Street in reference to an assault. Officers arrived and learned an adult male was assaulted by two other adults. A report was generated.
Assault - On Friday, officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of S Rusk St in regards to a disturbance. Officers arrived and spoke with a husband and wife who had been in a verbal and physical disturbance. Officers investigated the incident and discovered the male had struck the female in the chest. A report was generated for assault causing bodily injury to a family member.
Driving while intoxicated - On Friday, Sherman officers responded to north bound US Highway 75 in reference to an intoxicated driver. Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop with it in the 2500 block N. US HWY 75. The investigation revealed the driver of the vehicle was intoxicated. She was placed under arrest. A driving while intoxicated report was generated.
Possession of a controlled substance - On Saturday, an officer was dispatched to the 900 block of La Salle Drive for a welfare concern. Upon arrival, the officer observed the drive asleep in the driver seat. The officer woke the driver up and had him exit the vehicle. The officer deployed his K9 partner to open air sniff around the vehicle. K9 alerted to the vehicle and contraband was located inside the vehicle. A possession of a controlled substance penalty group 2 one to four grams report was generated.
Driving while intoxicated - On Saturday, officers arrived to the area of N. US Highway 75 near Lamberth Street in reference to a major vehicle crash. The driver of a vehicle crashed into a parked car on the highway. An investigation and report for driving while intoxicated were conducted.
Assault - On Friday, Sherman officers responded to the 1400 block Park Place in reference to a disturbance. The investigation revealed a physical altercation occurred between and husband and wife. The husband assaulted the wife during the altercation. He was placed under arrest and transported to Grayson County Jail. An assault causing bodily injury to a family member report was generated.
Criminal mischief - On Saturday, a citizen reported that her vehicle had been vandalized in the 500 block of North Highland Avenue. The driver’s door handle had been broke off and her license plates were missing. A report was taken for criminal mischief between $100-$750.
Assault - On Saturday, Sherman Police were dispatched to Texoma Medical Center to speak to an assault victim in the emergency room. The victim reported that her boyfriend had assaulted her the night before and she had gone to the hospital for her injuries. The alleged assault occurred in the 1900 block of Princess Dr in Sherman. The location of the suspect was unknown at the time of the investigation. A report was generated for assault causing bodily injury to a family member.
Criminal mischief - On Saturday, an officer was dispatched to a disturbance in the 400 block of E Lamar St. According to the sister of the male suspect, he had thrown his cell phone at her vehicle, breaking the window. A report for criminal mischief $750-$2500 was generated.
Assault - On Saturday, an officer was dispatched to the area of E King St and S Walnut St in regards to an assault. The officer arrived and spoke with the complainant, who advised he had been assaulted by an adult male. The complainant stated he was struck in the face multiple times. A report was generated for assault causing bodily injury.
Theft - On Saturday, officers were dispatched to the 4300 block of Cardinal Drive in reference to a stolen vehicle. Officers arrived on scene and spoke with the victim, who stated she was trying to sell her vehicle and the suspect came to test drive it but never returned. No arrests were made. A stolen vehicle report was generated.
Burglary - On Sunday, an SPD officer was dispatched to a residence in the 600 block of S Vaden St. in reference to a burglary of a vehicle. The victim reported several items had been stolen from her unlocked vehicle parked in her driveway. An offense report for burglary of vehicle was completed.
Assault - On Sunday, a Sherman officer was dispatched to a residence in the 3200 block of Dauphine Drive in reference to a delayed assault. The victim advised he was scratched on the arm by his daughter at the residence. A report was generated for assault causing bodily injury to a family member.
