Outdoor Powersports reports more than $30K worth of equip stolen; other police reports
The Denison Police Department received more than 250 calls for service over the weekend.
On the report release Monday, more than 50 of those calls were related to traffic stops. Twenty of those calls were related to suspicious activity. Seventeen of those calls were related to disturbances.
Four were about noise complaints.
Nine of the calls were pertaining to burglary or panic alarms. Sixteen calls were hangups or misdials. There were 13 welfare checks and one assault was reported.
Between midnight Monday and 8 a.m. Tuesday, DPD received about 105 calls for service.
Eleven of those calls were to report possible suspicious activity. There were 26 traffic stops. Five calls were related to burglary or panic alarms. Three calls were for erratic driving.
Four calls were for welfare checks.
Between midnight Friday and 8 a.m. Tuesday, the department responded to about 365 calls for service.
Theft - On June 8, officers responded to a business in the 3900 block of Texoma Parkway to a report of a burglary. Officers responded and found forced entry into Outdoor Powersports. A report for theft property $30K<$150K was completed.
Theft - On June 8, a male complainant made telephone contact with an officer regarding a theft. The complainant stated an unknown suspect scammed him out of money over the phone. The complainant resides in the 3700 block of North Loy Lake Rd in Sherman. The incident occurred on June 3. A theft of property $2,500<$30K was generated.
Theft - On Monday, a female complainant made telephone contact with an officer regarding a theft. The complainant stated an unknown suspect scammed her out of money. The complainant resides in the 900 block of Crestview Drive in Sherman. The incident occurred on June 5. A theft of property $100<$750 report was generated.
Burglary - On June 8, SPD officers responded to a business in the 3200 block of US HWY 75 in reference to a burglary of a vehicle. The victim reported the offense had just occurred, and the suspect had left the scene on foot. Investigation determined the unknown suspect forced entry into the vehicle via a partially open window and took property. An offense report for burglary of a vehicle was completed.
Criminal mischief - On Monday, officers responded to a criminal mischief call in the 2100 block of Texoma Parkway. Officers arrived and observed multiple things broken inside the room. The estimated damage was approximately $1000. A criminal mischief report was completed.
Possession of a controlled substance - On Monday, a Sherman Officer conducted a traffic stop in the 2200 block of Texoma Pkwy. A vehicle occupant was found to be in possession of methamphetamine. The suspect was placed under arrest. An offense report was generated for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1.
