Citizens report scammers; other police reports
Theft - On Friday, a citizen reported that someone had stolen clay pots from her front yard in the 1100 block of South First Street. A report was taken for theft property under $100.
Interfering with an emergency call - On Thursday, officers of the Sherman Police Department were approached by a female in the 500 block of N. Highland Ave that wanted to report an assault that occurred on May 24 in the 200 block of W. Dexter. The victim reported she was physically assaulted by being struck in the face numerous times by a male suspect known to her. The victim reported the suspect then threatened her with a knife and prevented her from calling emergency services. The victim began to seek professional medical assistance days later. An offense report was generated and the case remains under investigation.
Theft - On Friday, a citizen came to Sherman Police Department to report that she had been scammed out of money from an advertisement she had received to assist people in need. A report was made for theft of property between $100-$750.

Possession - On Friday, Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 800 block of S. Hazelwood Street. Officers conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle and located less than two ounces of marijuana. A report was generated.
Criminal mischief - On Friday, officers were dispatched to the 2100-block of Texoma Parkway in reference to a Criminal Trespass. Upon police arrival, officers spoke with the male who was located on the property. He was previously issued a criminal trespass from the property manager for the property. He was arrested for Criminal Trespass and transported to the Grayson County Jail.
Aggravated assault - On Friday, officers were dispatched to 2100 block of Texoma Parkway for a disturbance. Officers arrived on scene and spoke with the victim who stated the suspect pointed a knife in her direction and yelled that he was going to cut her. The victim stated the suspect left on foot and officers were able to locate the suspect. After further investigation, Officers arrested the suspect for aggravated assault with deadly weapon.
Burglary - On Friday, Sherman Dispatch received a call in reference to a burglary of a motor vehicle in the 2300 block of West Taylor Street. The victim advised a male was inside her vehicle. The victim’s phone and cash were stolen. The suspect was later able to be identified. A report for burglary of a vehicle was generated.
Driving while intoxicated - On Friday, Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 1400 block of E. Pecan Street. During the stop, the driver showed signs of intoxication and was arrested. He was transported to the Grayson County Jail and booked in for driving while intoxicated 2nd offense.
Driving while intoxicated - On Friday, Sherman Police were dispatched to the 2200-block South Crockett Street in reference to an intoxicated male. Upon arrival, the male was found passed out in the driver’s seat of a running vehicle. The male exhibited several physical indicators of an intoxicated person. The male had a prior conviction for driving while intoxicated. The male also had a warrant for federal probation. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Grayson County Jail. An offense report was generated
Driving while intoxicated - On Saturday, officers initiated a traffic stop with a vehicle in the 1700 block of Texoma Parkway. During the stop, the driver exhibited multiple signs of intoxication The driver refused to participate in standardized field sobriety tests. Several signs of intoxication were observed of the driver. The suspect was arrested for driving while intoxicated and escape from custody. An offense report was generated.
Assault - On Saturday, officers were dispatched to 700 block N Harrison Ave for a disturbance. An adult female was sprayed with a self-defense spray by an unknown adult male. A report for assault causing bodily injury was generated.
Burglary - On Saturday, Sherman Dispatch received a call in reference to a theft in progress in the 200 block of North Arapaho West. The caller advised a male attempted to steal her property out of her vehicle. The caller was able to provide video footage of the incident. The suspect was found nearby. The suspect had a warrant for a previous burglary of a vehicle. He was arrested. A report for burglary of a vehicle was generated.
Assault - On Sunday, Sherman Police Department Dispatch received a call in reference to a disturbance in the 100 block of W Wilson Ave. The victim stated the suspect assaulted her by choking her. The suspect was arrested for assault of a family/household member impeding breath/circulation and taken to the Grayson County Jail.
Burglary - On Tuesday, a Sherman Officer was dispatched to a residence in the 4800 block of Highgrove Drive in reference to a burglary in progress. When the officer arrived, the suspect had already fled the scene. Investigation determined that an uninvited person assaulted a person in the home. A report was generated for burglary of a habitation
Missing person - On Sunday, Sherman Police Dispatch received a call in reference to a missing person in the 600 block of S Colbert St. Officers were dispatched to the location and spoke with the caller. The caller stated her husband had not returned home and he was not answering his phone. A report was generated for a missing person.
