Sherman opens West Travis extension ahead of high school opening

Sherman city officials held a ceremony Wednesday to formally open an extension of West Travis Street. The road, which connect the U.S. Highway 75 service road and FM 1417, was extended to provide additional access to the new Sherman High School site, which is expected to open in January of 2021. The new roadway is also expected to provide access  to future development that is expected to be spurred by the high school construction.
