Annual Choctaw Labor Day Festival canceled due to pandemic
Durant - The Choctaw Nation announced Monday that it has canceled its 2020 Labor Day Festival due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Plans had been to scale back the festival, which was set for Sept. 4-6. However, Chief Gary Batton said, the decision was made cancel this year’s event “out of an abundance of caution.”
Batton will instead deliver his annual State of the Nation address virtually on Sept. 7. It will be available on the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma’s Facebook and YouTube channels as well as on choctawnation.com.
