Body found in Lake Texoma identified as Pottsboro man

The Grayson County Sheriff's Office announced Monday that a Pottsboro man was found dead at Lake Texoma Sunday.

The Grayson County Sheriff’s Office Monday reported that deputies found a body floating face down at Lake Texoma in Pottsboro Sunday.

The deputies were called to the 50 block of Shoreline in Pottsboro and the body was identified as a 85-year-old Billy Smith from Pottsboro.

A written statement from the the GCSO said that Smith’s family told authorities that he goes to the lake everyday to swim and had been diagnosed with heart disease.

“There were no signs of foul play and the body has been sent to the Medical Examiners Office for an Autopsy,” the written statement from the GCSO said. The statement added that authorities believe that Smith drowned sometime on Saturday.
