Theatricks presents ’A year with Frog and Toad’
Theatricks is set to wind up its 2019-2020 season July 10 - 19 in the Honey McGee Playhouse with the musical production of A Year with Frog and Toad A fun and lively musical based on the beloved children's books written by Arnold Lobel. This musical adapted by Robert Reale and Willie Reale follows a year in the life of two friends, Frog and Toad as they tell tales, have new experiences and bake cookies. This entertaining family show introduces you to a cast of interesting and entertaining animals along throughout.
A Year with Frog and Toad has a cast of 12 playing a wide variety of singing and dancing characters, heading up the cast is Jacob Williams as Frog and Colman Scheibmeir as Toad. These two are surrounded by a flock of eight birds and a group of moles, four squirrels, two mice, a snail, a turtle, and a lizard, played by Amy Walton, Andrea Bryson. Emily Sileven, Allison Hill, Emie Shaw, Anna Shaw, Sarah Williams, Mattie Scheibmeir, Eran Nichols, and Madilyn Short.
This musical is being directed by Webster Crocker with music director Heidi Scheibmeir and assistant Caleb Crocker, choreographer Leandra Williams, and orchestra conductor Tom Bryson. Nicholas Williams is acting as Stage Manager keeping the entire process moving while overseeing a group of about 10 backstage personnel doing sets, props, costumes, lights, projections, and hair and makeup.
Theatricks box office for A Year with Frog and Toad will open Monday, July 6 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. for Theatricks season members, and Tuesday, July 7 during the same times for the general public. Tickets are $14 for adults and $12 students. Seating will be limited due to current social distancing restrictions and reservations must be made through the box office at 903-892-8818 or visiting the Honey McGee Playhouse at 313 W. Mulberry in Sherman, TX, they will not be sold online for this production.
Theatricks is currently selling their 2020-2021 season memberships online or at the production of A Year with Frog and Toad, and includes the musical Cinderella September 11 – 20, Miss Nelson is Missing March 5 – 14, and the musical The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs July 9 – 18 of 2021. Membership prices are $30 adults, $25 for seniors, and $20 student.
