Still time to vote in Nov. 5 election

Nearly 4,500 people turned out to Grayson County polling locations on the last day of early voting last week. Election Day and the final day of voting this year is Tuesday.

In the final five days of early voting, nearly 18,000 local residents cast ballots in the election. Nearly 30,000 area residents cast votes in the first five days of early voting. According to the Texas Secretary of State website, there are 92,000 registered voters in the county.

This election cycle voters will determine who will be the next Grayson County District Attorney and the Grayson County Precinct 1 Commissioner among other offices.

Through flyers and elections information, the Grayson County Elections Administration reminded voters of their rights at the polls.

1. Can I wear political slogans into the polling place?

No, political slogans used by candidates or parties are considered electioneering and may not be worn inside the polling site.

2. can I wear clothing with a candidate(s) name on it?

No, nothing may be worn with a candidate (previous or current) picture or name on it within 100 feet of the polling site.

3. Can I use my phone inside the polling places for notes, to take a picture or make a phone call?

No, no phones may be used inside the polling site

4. May I bring political literature into the polling place?

Yes, candidate or political literature including self-written notes be used once at the poll. It must be put away while standing in line, checking in and may not be used or discussed with another voter.
