Looking for something to do this evening?

Then look no further than the annual Texoma Chapter of Ducks Unlimited’s Couple’s Event. The 2014 edition is scheduled for tonight, Friday, Feb. 21, in Sherman.

The event, once again slated for the Sherman Municipal Building ballroom across from Bearcat Stadium, will see doors open at 6 p.m.

As with past dinners, tonight’s fundraiser will feature plenty of shrimp, crawfish, chicken, and other Cajun food goodies as catered by Savoie’s Cajun Pot out of Shreveport, La.

"We’ll be raffling off a DPMS Arms AR-15, a Howa .308 rifle with a scope, a Beretta 92 9mm handgun, a Glock 19 9mm handgun, and a Benelli Nova shotgun among other things," said Jim Lillis, a Texoma DU spokesman.

"We’ll be giving away about 10 different firearms through our raffles, games, and silent auction. And we’ve also got the usual assortment of DU items including prints, decorative decoys, and a good amount of hunting gear as well."

Tickets to the event are $40 for singles and $60 for couples if purchased in advance from Risk Shoe Repair in downtown Sherman or from DU committee member Jim Salling.

At the door, ticket prices will increase to $50 for individuals and $75 for couples.

For information, contact Salling at 903-463-1151 or Lillis at 903-815-8002.
