Three Texomaland baseball players were named honorable mention on the Collin Street Bakery/Texas Sports Writers Association Class 4A all-state team.

Three Texomaland baseball players were named honorable mention on the Collin Street Bakery/Texas Sports Writers Association Class 4A all-state team.


Celina senior Preston Morse was selected at outfielder while Bonham had senior Kendall Kennedy at pitcher and classmate Jared Prock at shortstop.


Morse batted .496 on the year with 10 doubles and 19 RBI. Kennedy was 10-1 with 84 strikeouts and an 0.60 ERA, and also hit .381 with 31 RBI. Kennedy was voted District 12-4A overall Most Valuable Player, while Prock was voted the district’s defensive MVP.


Iowa Park’s Westyn Swenson was the Class 4A baseball player of the year. The senior outfielder batted .552, scoring 32 and knocking in 41. He had 19 doubles, six triples and stole 11 bases for 23-2-2 Iowa Park. He also was 6-0 pitching with a 1.38 earned run average.


Ricky Griffin of Argyle was named Class 4A coach of the year.
