ALLEN — Kenna Ferguson homered, drove in two and earned the win as Sherman finished the first day of the Allen Tournament with a 5-2 victory in six innings against Mount Pleasant.


Addey Kuhn also homered and drove in two, Miranda Farias was 2-for-3 and Mackenzie Clark singled and scored for the Lady Bearcats (5-4), who continue tourney play on Friday.


Sherman started the day with 10-9 loss in six innings against Celina. Clark was 2-for-2 with a home run, two RBI and scored twice, Emma Jones was 2-for-2 with a pair of doubles, two walks, drove in a run and scored four times, Jillian Whitmire was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI, Ferguson doubled and drove in two and Ava Gibson doubled and drove in a run.


Coppell 7, Denison 5 (6)


In Allen, Keanu Hall homered and drove in three runs during Denison’s loss against Coppell to open the Allen Tournament.


Hannah Grinspan was 2-for-3 and drove in a run, Jewel Hiberd was 2-for-2, Jaci Garvin singled, drove in a run and scored and Elizabeth Linwood singled and scored for Denison (3-6), which continues tourney play this weekend.


Bells 7, Mount Vernon 0 (6)


In Allen, Alexis Tanguma threw a three-hitter with nine strikeouts and no walks and was 2-for-4 with a triple and scored as Bells defeated Mount Vernon to finish out the first day of the Allen Tournament.


Mia Moore tripled, drove in two runs and scored, Bella Smith singled, drove in a run and scored twice, Cheznie Hale walked twice and scored and Cheyenne Floyd singled and drove in a run for Bells (6-1-1), which continues tourney play on Friday.


The Lady Panthers started the day with a 7-7 tie in five innings against Plano East. Floyd was 3-for-4 with a home run and scored twice, Sasha Lewis was 3-for-3 with three RBI, Kylee Beach was 2-for-2 and scored twice and Smith singled and scored twice.


Valley View-Era Tournament


Pottsboro 13, Boyd 3 (6)


In Valley View, Sierra Strand was 2-for-3 with three RBI and scored twice as Pottsboro opened the Valley View-Era Tournament with a victory against Boyd.


Kendal Rainey was 2-for-4 with three RBI and scored, Sadie Martinez singled, walked twice and scored twice, Haylee Hill walked four times, drove in a run and scored twice and Kayci Shiltz singled, walked, drove in a run and scored twice for the Lady Cardinals.


S&S 18, Lindsay 3


In Era, Dara Muller was 4-for-4 with a double, two RBI and scored four times as S&S finished the final day of the Valley View-Era Tournament with a win over Lindsay.


Presley Wilson was 3-for-4 with two RBI and scored twice, Lauren Jaresh was 3-for-4 with two RBI and scored three times, Hannah Evans was 2-for-4 with a triple, three RBI and scored twice and Cate Sloan was 2-for-3 with two RBI and scored for S&S (6-3), which continues tourney action against Bridgeport at 11 a.m. and Valley View at 5 p.m. on Friday.


The Lady Rams started the day with a 10-3 loss against Farmersville. Wilson was 4-for-4 with a home run, two doubles, two RBI and scored twice, Jaresh doubled and drove in a run and Muller singled and scored.


Valley View 9, Whitesboro 4


In Valley View, Karley Wolf was 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles, two RBI and scored during Whitesboro’s loss to Valley View in the Valley View-Era Tournament.


Chesney Wolf singled and scored and Jamie Dickson walked twice and scored for Whitesboro (4-3), which plays Boyd at 1 p.m. on Friday as tourney play continues.


The Lady Bearcats started the day with a 15-1 victory against Chisholm Trail. Karley Wolf allowed an unearned run on two hits with 15 strikeouts and one walk and was 2-for-6, drove in a run and scored twice, Chesney Wolf was 3-for-5 with a double, three RBI and scored twice, Rylee Russell was 3-for-4 with a double, three RBI and scored twice, Rylie Andrews was 3-for-5 with a double, drove in a run and scored, BreAnn Beste was 2-for-4, drove in a run and scored three times and Maddy Cole was 2-for-4 with a double, drove in a run and scored.


Community Tournament


Whitewright 17, Dallas Spruce 0 (3)


In Greenville, Natalie Alexander threw a no-hitter with four strikeouts and no walks and was 2-for-2 with a pair of doubles, three RBI and scored three times as Whitewright defeated Dallas Spruce at the Community Tournament.


Kyleigh Clements was 3-for-3 with a double, four RBI and scored, Makayla Alexander was 3-for-3 and scored twice, Kiley Anderson was 2-for-2 with a double, three RBI and scored twice and Madie Rohre was 3-for-3 with a double and scored for Whitewright (5-3), which continues tourney action on Friday.


The Lady Tigers started the day with a 7-6 loss in four innings against Cooper. Hannah Williams was 3-for-3, drove in a run and scored, Sage Harlow homered and drove in two, Kyleigh Clements singled, walked, drove in a run and scored twice and Hayden Thompson singled, drove in a run and scored.
