GEORGETOWN — Gregorio Quintana and Elijah Martinez each scored twice as Sherman finished the Georgetown tournament with a 6-0 victory against Brownwood.


Fabrizio Avila and Izak Mejia each added goals as the Bearcats did all the scoring in the first half and Gerald Clark and Jacob Prado split time in net to share the shutout win for Sherman (2-0-1), which plays at Frisco Heritage on Tuesday night.


The Bearcats also had a 0-0 tie against host Georgetown and have not allowed a goal in the season’s first three matches.

Mansfield Timberview Tournament


Dallas Adams 1, Sherman 0


In Mansfield, an inadvertent handball led to a penalty kick that Dallas Adams converted for the only goal of the match to hand Sherman a loss to close out the Mansfield Timberview Tournament.


The Lady Bearcats (1-2) will compete in the Princeton Tournament starting on Friday.


In earlier tournament action, Sherman had a 6-0 win over Dallas Adamson to go with a 3-2 loss against Timberview.


The win against Adamson was the season-opener for the Lady Cats.


Bailey Tillotson and Abigail Escobedo each had a goal and an assist while Brandy Moran, Carmen Ramirez, C.C. Wilson and Lizbeth Sanchez also scored and Maria Lopez earned the shutout victory.


Tillotson and Sanchez scored with Ramirez assisting on each goal during the loss to Timberview, which saw Sherman pull within a goal with five minutes remaining.


Garland ISD Tournament


West Mesquite 2, Denison 1


In Garland, the Lady Yellow Jackets suffered a 2-1 loss against West Mesquite to finish out pool play at the Garland ISD Tournament.


The loss kept Denison (1-2) out of the third-place match against Irving. The Lady Yellow Jackets will host a tournament starting on Thursday.


In earlier tournament action, Denison earned an 8-0 victory against North Dallas to go with a 3-1 loss to Naaman Forest.
