WACO — The Texoma Christian girls cross-country team had an eighth-place finish at the TAPPS Class 3A state meet while the TCS boys were 12th at Cottonwood Creek Golf Course.

The Lady Eagles were eighth and led by Linda Simpkins, who was 49th with a time of 15:47.2. Azarya Burgos was 57th in 16:37.9, Audrey Hayes was 70th in 17:58.1, Shelbi Hayes placed 72nd with a time of 18:04.6, Abigail Murphy was a spot back in 18:06.4 and Elizabeth Blanton was 83rd in 21:18.

The Eagles were just outside the top 10 and were led by Gunner Largent, who was 48th in 21:01.5. Ayden Burgos was 51st with a time of 21:07.8, Jonah Barker was 70th with a time of 22:34.7, Brian Richardson was 74th in 22:47.7 and Thomas Barnett placed 94th in 25:46.
