GUNTER — Clayton Reed caught three passes for 57 yards and two touchdowns and also ran four times for 46 yards and a score as Gunter defeated S&S, 48-0, in District 5-3A (II) action.

Mitchell Brewer completed both of his passes for 58 yards and the two TDs, Peyton Lowe returned a punt 70 yards for a score and added a pair of carries for 32 yards and a touchdown, Martin Garcia had an interception return for a TD and Saul Rodriguez scored on the ground for Gunter (5-1, 2-0), which plays at Holliday on Friday.

The Tigers, who have allowed just one touchdown in the past three games, were up 41-0 at half-time on the way to their 24th straight district victory.

Colby McSpedden had 13 carries for 11 yards to lead S&S (0-6, 0-2), which will try to snap a 17-game losing streak when it hosts Henrietta on Friday. The Rams managed just seven total yards.

District 4-3A (I)

Pilot Point 45, Whitesboro 24

In Whitesboro, Tryston Gaines had a 60-yard touchdown catch for Whitesboro but Pilot Point pulled away from the Bearcats in a battle of district unbeatens.

Whitesboro (3-3, 1-1) had a 21-16 half-time lead as Devon Price and Major Ledbetter each had touchdowns and Jorge Montes kicked a 31-yard field goal to tie the game at 24 in the fourth quarter.

But Pilot Point (5-1, 2-0), which was led by Javon Bruce's 23 carries for 215 yards and four touchdowns, scored 21 straight points to close out the game.

Whitesboro will travel to Bowie on Friday.

District 5-3A (I)

Rains 55, Howe 28

In Howe, the Bulldogs lost in district action for the first time after Emory Rains used a big second quarter to beat Howe.

Howe (2-4, 1-1) will look to get back on track when it plays at first-place Pottsboro on Friday.

Luke Sheppard ran 20 times for 125 yards and four touchdowns and was 8-of-13 passing for 105 yards and a TD to lead Rains (3-3, 1-1).


Tom Bean 34, Era 6

In Era, Ryan Weems completed 8-of-20 passes for 122 yards and two touchdowns and also ran 12 times for 43 yards and two TDs as Tom Bean earned its second straight victory by topping Era in non-district action.

Kaleb Graham led the ground game with eight carries for 66 yards and a score to go with a pair of catches for 46 yards, Lance Pauler added a pair of receptions for 27 yards and a touchdowns and Bryce Clark had two catches for 23 yards and a TD for Tom Bean (2-4), which has the District 5-2A (I) bye on Friday before returning to action at Collinsville on Oct. 18.

The Tomcats scored 28 points in the second half after the game was tied at six at half-time.

Lindsay 60, Collinsville 0

In Lindsay, Trey Shelby had 13 carries for 61 yards for Collinsville during a non-district loss against Lindsay.

Jacory Sheppard added 13 carries for 41 yards and Nathan Bocanegra had a catch for 30 yards for Collinsville (3-3), which opens District 5-2A (I) play at Valley View on Friday. The Pirates had five turnovers.

Kolt Schuckers threw five touchdown passes for Lindsay (4-2), which led 53-0 at half-time.

Alvord 49, Tioga 40

In Tioga, Caleb McKinney completed 17-of-36 passes for 232 yards and three touchdowns and ran 15 times for 44 yards and two TDs during Tioga's non-district loss against Alvord.

Marshall Lease had nine catches for 133 yards and two touchdowns and also ran five times for 71 yards and a TD and Logan Westbrook added five receptions for 60 yards and a score for Tioga (2-4), which has the District 9-2A (II) bye on Friday before returning to action at Era on Oct. 18.

Tanner Richey had 219 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries for Alvord (3-3).
