OKLAHOMA CITY — Southeastern Oklahoma State opened the men’s golf season with a fifth-place finish at the GAC Preview hosted by Southern Nazarene at Lake Hefner Golf Course.


The Savage Storm fired a three-round score of 864 and finished 22 shots off the lead mark posted by Southern Arkansas.


Southeastern opened with a 287 in the first round, then shot a 292 before bouncing back with a 285.


Jordan Holifield led the Storm with a 67 after a pair of 72s to finish with a 211 and tie for sixth, five shots off the winning score.


George Elliott was next with a total of 214 to finish tied for 14th.


Ryan Ward carded a three-round score of 217 and tied for 25th.


Justice Hartman fired a 225 to place 36th.


Austin Adams shot a 228 in a tie for 39th.


Playing as individuals, Bryce Hughes finished with a 219 and tied for 27th and Matthew O’Steen had a 228 and tied for 39th.


Southeastern will be back on the course Monday for the NSU Men’s Golf Classic at the Muskogee Country Club.
