DURANT, Okla. — Southeastern Oklahoma State volleyball and new head coach Nicole Solum were picked to finish tied for ninth in the Great American Conference Preseason Poll released on Thursday.
The Savage Storm garnered 35 points, matching the total of Southern Arkansas.
Arkansas-Monticello and East Central finish out the poll in 11th and 12th place.
Southwestern Oklahoma State was named the preseason favorite, earning three first-place votes while Harding was second while picking up four first-place votes and Henderson State was third with four first-place votes as well.
Northwestern Oklahoma State fills the spot directly in front of the Savage Storm, while Oklahoma Baptist is seventh.
Arkansas Tech picked up the remaining first-place vote and is in fourth, followed by Ouachita Baptist and Southern Nazarene.
Southeastern opens the season Sept. 6-7 at the Angelo State Invitational before the team’s first home games as part of the South Central Classic Sept. 13-14 in Bloomer Sullivan Arena.
