Braden Carmichael started the day with a no-hitter in Grayson College’s 6-0 victory against Vernon in a North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference sweep by the Vikings at Dub Hayes Field on Thursday afternoon.

Carmichael struck out 14 and walked two with 70 of his 103 pitches going for strikes. Brandon Talley homered and drove in three, Cordell Dunn was 3-for-4 with a triple and two RBI, Hayden Houser was 2-for-3, drove in a run and scored and Braydon Webb was 2-for-3 and scored twice for Grayson (35-12, 21-5), which plays at Vernon in a double-header at 1 p.m. on Saturday.

The Vikings finished the day with 17-2 victory in five innings. Omar Cervantes was 3-for-3 and a triple shy of the cycle with three RBI and scored three times, Webb was 3-for-4 with a triple, drove in a run and scored twice, Talley was 2-for-4 with a double, home run, three RBI and three runs, Blake Rambusch was 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI and scored twice, Will Quillen was 2-for-2, drove in two and scored and Jarrett Gonzalez singled, was hit by a pitch twice, drove in two runs and scored three times.
