DURANT, Okla. — Southeastern Oklahoma State women’s tennis snapped a losing skid and got back in the win column in Great American Conference play with a key 4-1 win over Henderson State.

The victory lifts the Savage Storm to 2-8 overall and 2-4 in GAC play,locking down the fifth-seed for the conference tournament later this month.

Chiara Berg and Elizaveta Tregubova picked up a 6-2 win at No. 3 doubles after the Reddies took the one and two spots.

Southeastern bounced back in singles play starting at the top where Berg evened the match with a 6-4, 7-6 win over Sydnee Parker.

India Shiaelis followed suit at No. 2 singles to give the Storm a lead, taking out Lorish Puluspene 6-4, 5-7, 6-4.

Diana Budnik then rallied for a 4-6, 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 4 to push the lead to 3-1.

Tregubova handed Mikayla Braun a 6-0, 6-1 loss at the No. 5 line.

Southeastern will be back in action in non-conference competition to wrap up the regular season, first hosting Southwest Baptist at noon on Friday followed by a 1 p.m. contest against Washburn on Saturday.
