WEATHERFORD — Brandon Talley was 2-for-4 with a home run, three RBI and scored twice as second-place Grayson College defeated fifth-place Weatherford, 9-0, to sweep a North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference double-header on Thursday.


Braydon Webb was 4-for-4 with two RBI and three runs, Hayden Houser was 2-for-3 and scored twice, Cordell Dunn was 2-for-3 with a double and drove in a run and Rorik Maltrud and Steve Hayward combined on the six-hit shutout with 11 strikeouts and five walks for the Vikings (31-11, 17-5), who host Weatherford for a double-header at 1 p.m. on Saturday.


Grayson started the day with a 4-1 victory as Braden Carmichael scattered five hits and a walk while striking out six to earn the complete-game win. Webb was 2-for-4, drove in a run and scored, Will Quillen was 2-for-3 with a double, triple, and scored, Riley McKinney tripled, drove in a run and scored, Jarrett Gonzales was 2-for-4 and Houser singled, walked, drove in a run and scored.
