The Howe girls and the Van Alstyne boys earned the District 10-3A golf titles with their performances at Stone Creek Country Club.
The Lady Bulldogs took the crown with a combined 436 while Whitewright also advance to the region tournament with a 459. Bonham was third with a 489 and Van Alstyne was fourth with a 538.
Howe was led by individual champion Kriston Harris, who shot a 98, while Molly Wilson was third with a 108, Katie Grogan was fourth with a 109, Grace Brennan was ninth with a 119, Brooke Robinson shot 121, Reagan Troxtell had a 123 and Landry Sanders had a 125.
Whitewright was led by Lana Loria’s runner-up finish with a 104. Eva Rau was sixth with a 113, Callie McGee had a 120 for 10th, Alivia Stephens shot a 122 and Alexis Tillett and Emily Barnhurst each carded a 130.
On the boys side, Van Alstyne won with a combined 333 while Bells also advanced to the region tournament with a 376. Van Alstyne’s second team was third with a 409, Howe was sixth at 442 and Whitewright was eighth with a 480.
Van Alstyne’s Nathan Cuthbertson won the individual title with a 72 while teammate Doak McDonald was the runner-up with an 82. Gage Proctor tied for fourth with an 89, Brock Powers was sixth with a 90 and Rhett Gallagher was eighth with a 94. Randall Searls qualified for the region tourney as a medalist with a 93.
Bells was led by Ben Stephens’ 87 to place third. Nate Stephens shot 89 to tie for fourth, Eli Norris shot 99 and tied for 10th, Wyatt Stephens shot a 101 and Garrett Kyle shot a 123.
The Class 3A Region II tourney is April 22-23 for the girls and April 24-25 for the boys.
