VERNON — Carmen Eilertsen was 3-for-4 with a double, four RBI and scored three times but Grayson College was swept in a North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference double-header after Vernon’s walk-off 13-12 victory in Game 2 on Wednesday afternoon.


The Lady Vikings scored twice in the top of the seventh to break a 10-all tie before Vernon’s rally in the bottom of the inning.


Kaylee Walters was 3-for-5 with two doubles, drove in a run and scored twice, Jade Miller was 3-for-5 and scored three times, Eden Lawson singled, drove in two runs and scored, Rien Milliken singled, walked and drove in two and Kamrie Harrison singled, walked and scored three times for the Lady Vikings (16-17, 8-12), who host McLennan in a double-header at noon on Saturday.


Grayson started the day with a 12-1 loss in five innings. Miller homered in the third to cut the deficit to 4-1 before Vernon scored seven times in the bottom of the inning to break the game open. Walters doubled, Milliken singled and Lawson and Danielle Humphrey walked for the Lady Vikings.
