ANNA — Sherman’s Alexa Antilla and Denison’s Will Myers qualified for the regional golf tournament with their performances this week at the District 10-5A tourney at Hurricane Creek Country Club.

The Lady Bearcats placed third with a two-day total of 870, which was behind champion Lovejoy (684) and McKinney North (821) for a regional berth. Antilla advanced as she placed fifth with a 190. Grace Adami was 13th with a 214, Emily Blanton carded a 226 to place 19th, Emma Morgan was 21st with a 241 and Shelby Herndon was 27th with a 250.

Denison’s Taylor Rathfon led the Lady Jackets with a 222 to finish 16th. Brie Baggett was 20th with a 236 and Alexis Jenkins was 29th with a 262.

Lovejoy’s Allie Bianchi won the title with a 149.

On the boys side, Myers advanced with a third-place finish after shooting a 163. Lovejoy’s Jay Pabin won the title with a 147 and Wylie East’s Miles Maresch was the runner-up with a 158.

Denison was fifth with a 753. Ryland Allison was tied for 17th with a 185, Sean Parks was 22nd with a 188, David Foster carded a 217 for 34th and Brodie Coffin was 36th with a 222.

Sherman was seventh with a 799. Parker Samuelson led the Bearcats with a 167 to place sixth. Everson McConnell was 26th with a 194, Elijah Dick shot a 214 and was 33rd, Seth Hinkley finished 37th with a 224 and Trevor Shrum was 40th with a 239.

Lovejoy Black won the team title with a 648, followed by McKinney North (689) and Lovejoy Red (707).

The Class 5A Region II Tournament is April 24-25 at the Rockwall Golf and Athletic Club.
