LUCAS — Tate Bethel was 3-for-3 with a walk during Sherman’s 7-4 loss against first-place Lovejoy in District 10-5A action on Friday night.


Blake Steele singled and scored, Blaise Bentsen walked and drove in a run, Richy Clark walked, stole two bases and scored for the Bearcats (6-8-2, 0-3), who play at McKinney North on Tuesday night.


Sherman tied the game at three with three runs in the fourth inning before Lovejoy (14-3, 3-0), which is the only undefeated team in the district, took the lead for good in the bottom of the fifth.


Princeton 2, Denison 1


PRINCETON — Zander Ramey and Garrett Maxwell combined to allow just three hits but Denison lost a pitcher’s duel against Princeton in 10-5A action on Friday night.


Ramey allowed two runs on three hits with four walks and four strikeouts in four innings before Maxwell threw two hitless innings with a walk and a strikeout.


Luke Kirkbride tripled and scored, Cam Wheeler walked twice, Christian Ruebeck drove in a run and Garrett Maxwell singled for Denison (6-11, 0-3).


All of the runs were scored in the first inning. The victory moved Princeton into a three-way tie for second place with McKinney North and Wylie East.


District 10-3A


Bells 9, Bonham 0


BELLS — Trystan Mallory scattered five hits and three walks to go with six strikeouts and also doubled and scored as Bells shut out Bonham in district action on Friday night.


Tyler Hawthorne was 2-for-3 with a walk, drove in two runs and scored, Lane Brown was 2-for-4, drove in a run and scored twice, Matthew Conner singled, walked twice, drove in a run and scored twice and Keaton High was 2-for-4, drove in a run and scored for Bells (11-2, 3-0), which has allowed one run so far in district play.


Brant Stuber was 2-for-4 and stole a base, Tanner Reaves singled and walked and Jake Spiller and Dawson Bradley singled for Bonham (5-7, 1-2).


Whitewright 3, Blue Ridge 0


WHITEWRIGHT — Austin Testerman threw a one-hitter with 16 strikeouts and two walks as Whitewright defeated Blue Ridge in district action on Friday night.


Testerman also doubled while Dylan Cordell singled, walked and drove in a run, Jace Andrew singled and scored, Tim Richey walked and scored and Ryne Godbey and Jake Claborn drove in runs for Whitewright (8-1, 2-0), which scored all its runs in the fourth inning.


Jaret Wallace singled and Bubba Hulsey walked twice for Blue Ridge (7-5, 0-3).

Gunter 2, Whitesboro 0


WHITESBORO — Elizabeth Schroeter threw a two-hitter with nine strikeouts and a walk as first-place Gunter defeated Whitesboro in district action on Saturday afternoon.


Olivia Eft was 2-for-3, stole a base and scored, Abby Gilbreath doubled, walked, drove in a run and scored and Kaylee Pruitt singled and drove in a run for Gunter (16-6, 4-0), which is a half-game in front of Pilot Point going into their match-up at Gunter on Monday night.


Karley Wolf allowed an earned run on six hits, struck out nine and walked two and also singled while Chesney Wolf singled and Jecca Autry walked for Whitesboro (9-5, 0-3).
