SAGINAW — Four area athletes, two from Whitesboro, qualified for the state powerlifting meet after their performances at the Division 3 Region 6 meet on Wednesday.


The state meet is at the Taylor County Expo Center in Abilene on March 22-23.


S&S’ Austin Mullennix won the region title at 114 pounds with a total of 980 pounds. Van Alstyne’s Austin Cuthbertson also qualified as the region runner-up at that weight with a total of 795 pounds.


Whitesboro’s Graham Ledbetter was the region champion at 198 pounds with a total of 1,390 pounds. Van Alstyne’s Hunter Griffin was third with a total of 1,260 pounds while Whitesboro’s Markos Morales was fifth with a total of 1,210 pounds, S&S’ Sam Whittenburg was seventh with a total of 1,155 pounds and Whitesboro’s Garrett Kemp was eighth with a total of 1,115 pounds.


Whitesboro’s Ignacio Salas was the region runner-up at 123 pounds and advanced with a total of 920 pounds.


Whitesboro was third in the team standings with 16 points, behind Alvord and Bowie.


Collinsville’s Dylan Kays placed third at 242 pounds with a total of 1,405 pounds. Bells’ Blake Peters was fifth with a total of 1,280 pounds.


Whitesboro’s Manuel Labrada took third place at 132 pounds with a total of 925 pounds while teammate Asher Contreras was sixth with a total of 890 pounds, S&S’ Keane Ortega was seventh with a total of 835 pounds and Bells’ Kason Huschke was eighth with the same weight on a tie-breaker.


Van Alstyne’s Lance Jones was fourth at 123 pounds with a total of 740 pounds. Pottsboro’s Riley Fish was fifth at the same weight on a tie-breaker, Whitesboro’s Conner Jacobs was seventh with a total of 725 pounds, Van Alstyne’s Jimmy Rollins was eighth with 705 pounds and Collinsville’s Caleb Beal was 11th with a total of 655 pounds.


Van Alstyne’s Jake Loganbill was fourth at super heavyweight with a total of 1,450 pounds while Bells’ Drake Stephens was ninth with a total of 1,150 pounds.


Bells’ Trevor Coglon was fifth at 181 pounds with a total of 1,210 pounds.


Tom Bean’s Justin Baque was fifth at 114 pounds with a total of 645 pounds while teammate Jack Lifsey was sixth with a total of 620 pounds and Gunter’s Erik Tapia was seventh with a total of 610 pounds.


Whitewright’s Radley Hamm was fifth at 220 pounds with a total of 1,250 pounds.


Gunter’s Reagan Spencer was seventh at 275 pounds with a total of 1,130 pounds. Texoma Christian’s Dayne Kelley was eighth with a total of 1,100 pounds while S&S’ Ethan Thomas was ninth at the same weight on a tie-breaker and S&S’ Matt Billmeier was 10th with a total of 1,070 pounds.


Pottsboro’s Keatyn Eitelman was eighth at 165 pounds with a total of 1,020 pounds while Tom Bean’s Anthony Karleskint was ninth with a total of 1,015 pounds.


Tom Bean’s Ethan Sanders was 11th at 148 pounds with a total of 880 pounds.
