GREENVILLE — Karen Lopez earned the shutout as the Sherman Lady Bearcats picked up a 2-0 victory against Greenville in non-district action on Tuesday night.


Kayla McDonald and Fatima Terrazas scored for Sherman (4-5-1), which fought through some tough weather and had to go into the wind during the first half to pick up the victory.


The Lady Bearcats, who tied their win total from last season, play at Denton Braswell in non-district action on Friday night.

Jacob Prado earned the shutout as Sherman and Denton played to a scoreless tie in non-district action at Bearcat Stadium on Tuesday night.


“It was a hard-fought game and both teams had plenty of chances to score,” Sherman head coach Chico Aleman said. “Of course the wind was a big factor.”


Sherman (4-4-4) is off until hosting Melissa on Tuesday night.

The Denison Yellow Jackets suffered a shutout loss against the Melissa Cardinals in non-district action at Munson Stadium on Tuesday night.


Melissa scored in the first half and made the lone goal stand up.


Denison (2-6-1) is off until hosting Wichita Falls Rider on Tuesday night at Munson Stadium to close out non-district play.
