Bonham senior quarterback Tyler Rodriguez and Whitesboro senior kicker Isaac Castillo were named Class 3A first-team all-state selections by the Texas Associated Press Sports Editors on Monday.

Voting is based on regular season statistics only.

Rodriguez tied Canadian’s Casen Cavalier for the first-team quarterback spot. He completed 169-of-234 passes for 2,487 yards and 33 touchdowns with eight interceptions and ran 124 times for 1,501 yards and 27 touchdowns.

Castillo made 35-of-37 extra points and made all eight field goal attempts with a long of 49 and had 26 touchbacks.

Collinsville senior offensive lineman Kendrick McAdams was a first-team all-state selection when the Class 2A team was announced on Sunday. McAdams graded out at 98 percent and had 104 pancake blocks.

Also in Class 3A, Whitesboro senior punter Brooks Barker was second-team all-state.

Gunter senior defensive lineman Steele Culp, junior defensive lineman Chris Martinez and senior defensive back Dylan Jantz were joined by Bells senior quarterback Bryan Ponder and Bonham junior receiver Jerrell Stewart as honorable mention selections.

In Class 2A, Wolfe City senior offensive lineman Jessie Webb was second-team all-state.

Wolfe City junior running back Dylan Wilson and senior defensive lineman Eric Fisk were honorable mention selections.
