DURANT, Okla. — After an outstanding performance in the GAC Preview Event at Lake Hefner Golf Course in Oklahoma City, Zach James has been named the Great American Conference Male Golfer of the Week.
It was a record-setting week as his final round 63 marked the lowest competitive round fired by a Southeastern golfer and his total of 197, or 19-under-par, set both school and conference records for the best 54-hole total.
The Whitesboro native opened his tournament with a round of 65 and followed it with a 69 before closing out the event with his record 63. Over two tournaments and six competitive rounds, James has fired four of them in the 60s and is carrying a 68.67 average round and is minus-3.33 to par on average.
He picked up his fifth career victory with the win and earns his sixth GAC Golfer of the Week honor.
Southeastern will be back on the course Sept. 24-25 at Shangri La Golf Course and Resort for the MSSU Men’s Fall Invitational.
