Tex Monk had three catches for 118 yards and two touchdowns as Texoma Christian held off Dallas Inspired Vision, 21-14, in non-district action on Friday night at the Center Street Athletic Complex.
Tym Rosenthal was 8-of-20 passing for 185 yards, Mathias Coleman ran 20 times for 66 yards and Dylan Foster scored on the ground for Texoma Christian (1-1).
The Eagles took the lead for good in the second quarter and hung on after Inspired Vision got within a score in the fourth quarter after Monk’s 87-yard TD had put TCS up 21-6.
Melissa 63, Frisco 48
FRISCO — Brendon Lewis was 14-of-21 passing for 185 yards and two touchdowns and had 11 carries for 181 yards and four scores as Melissa beat Frisco in non-district action on Friday.
Ja’Bray Young totaled 241 yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries, Kennedy Lewis had four catches for 22 yards and a score, Junior Castleberry chipped in two catches for 60 yards and a TD and Antonio Robinson scored on the ground for Melissa (2-0).
Whitesboro 37, Aubrey 0
AUBREY — Scout Sanders threw a touchdown pass and ran for two scores as Whitesboro blanked Aubrey in non-district action on Friday night.
Noah Greisen added a touchdown run for Whitesboro (2-0), which faces Gunter this Friday.
Bonham 42, Community 14
BONHAM — Tyler Rodriguez was 17-of-19 passing for 215 yards and three touchdowns and had 111 yards and three touchdowns on 12 carries as Bonham beat Community in non-district action on Friday night.
Noah Shellman finished with 117 yards and two touchdown on seven catches while Nick Rhinehart added six receptions for 91 yards and a score for Bonham (1-1).
Sunnyvale 38, Van Alstyne 15
VAN ALSTYNE — Rhett Gallagher had 15 carries for 81 yards and a touchdown and was 8-of-19 passing for 75 yards with a score and two interceptions in Van Alstyne’s non-district loss against Sunnyvale on Friday.
Drelin Davis had two catches for 35 yards and a TD while Jake Carroll ran seven times for 58 yards for Van Alstyne (0-2).
Honey Grove 32, Whitewright 6
WHITEWRIGHT — Trel Pruitt had 19 carries for 211 yards and three touchdowns as Honey Grove beat Whitewright in non-district play on Friday.
Kentavion Smith added a pair of catches for 79 yards and a touchdown and Aaron Nelson had 54 yards on a pair of carries for Honey Grove (1-1).
Austin Jones had a 41-yard touchdown catch from Marshall Mangrum for Whitewright (0-2). Kylan Watson led the Tigers with 17 carries for 81 yards.
Blue Ridge 38, Tioga 0
BLUE RIDGE — Garrett Mathers had 11 carries for 114 yards and three touchdowns as Blue Ridge beat Tioga in non-district action on Friday.
Slater James and Logan Johnson each had fumble returns for touchdowns and David Alas kicked a 29-yard field goal for Blue Ridge (1-1), which allowed just 40 yards.
Kaleb Scott had seven carries for 18 yards to lead Tioga (0-2).
Wolfe City 30, Bells 14
BELLS — Dylan Wilson had 22 carries for 195 yards and two touchdowns as Wolfe City beat Bells in non-district action on Friday.
Logan Green, who was 4-of-7 passing for 114 yards and Chad Greenway, who had two catches for 78 yards, added touchdown runs and Cole Salisburg returned a fumble 66 yards for a score for Wolfe City (2-0).
Wrangler Priest had four catches for 81 yards and a score, Bo Baker added a 21-yard TD catch, Konder Morris chipped in nine carries for 73 yards and Bryan Ponder was 11-of-31 for 165 yards with the two touchdowns and an interception and had 13 carries for 50 yards for Bells (1-1).
Tom Bean 30, Prairiland 20
TOM BEAN — Bryce Grier had four catches for 118 yards and two touchdowns and also ran for a score as Tom Bean beat Prairiland in non-district action on Friday.
Asa Osbourn had 15 carries for 122 yards and two TDs, Zack Lusk was 6-of-11 passing for 121 yards and the two scored and Michael Cooper paced the defense with 10 tackles for Tom Bean (2-0), which is 2-0 for the first time since 2008.
Trenton 27, Campbell 0
TRENTON — Dakota Risner had 16 carries for 107 yards and a touchdow as Trenton defeated Campbell in non-district action on Friday night.
Christian Verde added seven carries for 40 yards and two touchdowns and was 2-for-3 passing for 50 yards, James Day added a TD run and the Tigers held Campbell to 81 yards.
Trenton is 2-0 since restarting the program in 2011. The Tigers last were 2-0 in 1959, the final season before dropping football until the 2011 season.
FW Southwest 29, Gainesville 15
GAINESVILLE — Brandon Baker ran for 128 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries during Gainesville’s non-district loss against Fort Worth Southwest on Friday night.
Draylon Franklin added 19 carries for 51 yards and a score for Gainesville (0-2).
