PARIS — Braden Plyler was 10-of-12 passing for 118 yards and three touchdowns and also ran 10 times for 47 yards as Pottsboro opened the year with a 27-14 victory against Paris North Lamar on Friday.

Will Cates had 15 carries for 85 yards and a touchdown while Zach Talley, Jackson Lipscomb and Jacob Jeffers had the TD grabs for Pottsboro.

Celina 54, Frisco Memorial 0

CELINA — Logan Point had 16 carries for 91 yards and three touchdowns as Celina started the season with a non-district victory against Frisco Memorial on Friday.

Hunter Watson threw a TD pass and ran for a score, Luke Addy and Trey Gutierrez added TD runs and Noah Ross finished with three catches for 78 yards and a touchdown for the Bobcats.

It was the first game in school history for Frisco Memorial, which had 41 yards.

Pilot Point 35, Bridgeport 7

BRIDGEPORT — Jacob Pitts was 19-of-24 passing for 240 yards and four touchdowns and added 12 carries for 80 yards and a touchdown as Pilot Point opened the season with a victory over Bridgeport on Friday.

Javin Bruce totaled seven catches for 132 yards and two scores, Jay Cox finished with 10 carries for 46 yards and Bryson Griffin and Saul Gregorio caught TD passes for the Bearcats.

Tom Bean 35, Tioga 6

TIOGA — Zack Lusk was 15-of-23 passing for 106 yards and three touchdowns and ran 12 times for 58 yards as Tom Bean opened with a non-district victory over Tioga on Friday.

Asa Osbourn had 15 carries for 208 yards and a touchdown, Kaleb Graham had three catches for 18 yards and two scores, Bryce Grier finished with six catches for 52 yards and a TD and Kade McCarty had a fumble recovery for a touchdown for Tom Bean.

Callisburg 57, Life Oak Cliff 24

CALLISBURG — Dakota Shaffer had five carries for 133 yards and two touchdowns as Callisburg opened the season with a victory over Dallas Life Oak Cliff on Friday.

Justin Crisp added 12 carries for 105 yards and two TDs, Ethan Sewell finished with six carries for 78 yards and scored twice and Cameryn Crisp totaled 85 yards and a TD on three carries as Callisburg totaled 583 yards on the ground.

Howe 21, Ponder 18

HOWE — Arturo Lowder had a pair of rushing touchdowns as the Bulldogs held off Ponder in the season-opener on Friday night.

Austin Lee had started the scoring for the Bulldogs, who matched their win total from last season.

Bells 33, Honey Grove 16

HONEY GROVE — Bryan Ponder threw three touchdown passes and ran for a score as Bells began its season with a non-district victory over Honey Grove on Friday night.

Jacob Monroe had two TD grabs, Ben Stephens added a touchdown catch and Cire Luster ran for a score for the Panthers.

Dometreus Pruitt paced Honey Grove with 26 carries for 130 yards and a touchdown and Jacob Caffee added 16 carries for 56 yards and a touchdown.

Collinsville 42, Sacred Heart 0

MUENSTER — Trey Shelby had 10 carries for 105 yards and two touchdowns as Collinsville shut out Sacred Heart in the season-opener on Friday.

Garrett Vannoy added 12 carries for 95 yards and two scores while Gustavo Romo and Justin Hernandez each scored on the ground for Collinsville, which held Sacred Heart to 75 yards and forced five turnovers.

Trenton 36, Detroit 14

DETROIT — Christian Verde had 22 carries for 190 yards and four touchdowns as Trenton ended an 11-game losing streak with a season-opening victory over Detroit on Friday night.

Kaiden West returned an interception for a touchdown, Dakota Risner finished with 20 carries for 116 yards and James Day chipped in 10 carries for 77 yards for Trenton, which gained all 388 yards on the ground.

Vernon 28, Gainesville 21

VERNON — Brandon Baker had 20 carries for 162 yards and a touchdown but Vernon held off Gainesville in the season-opener on Friday night.

Draylon Franklin had a pair of touchdown runs in the fourth quarter for the Leopards.

City View 23, Blue Ridge 14

WICHITA FALLS — Tyson Walters threw for 106 yards and a pair of fourth-quarter touchdowns during Blue Ridge’s opening loss against City View in non-district action on Friday night.

Down 23-0, the Tigers got a 40-yard TD catch from Brody Wiggins and then a 49-scoring grab by Christian Enloe, who had four receptions for 41 yards. Garrett Mathers led Blue Ridge with 19 carries for 141 yards.

Pantego Christian 56, Texoma Christian 18

ARLINGTON — Mathias Coleman had four catches for 115 yards and a touchdown and also scored on the ground during Texoma Christian’s season-opening loss against Pantego Christian on Friday.

Tex Monk added a 41-yard touchdown catch from Tym Rosenthal, who was 9-of-22 passing for 252 yards with two touchdowns. Colton Devoll had a pair of receptions for 70 yards for TCS.

Denton Calvary 47, Savoy 30

SAVOY — The Savoy Cardinals opened the season with a six-man non-district loss against Denton Calvary in a game moved to Thursday night due to officials.

Savoy held an 17-6 lead in the first quarter before Calvary jumped to a 27-18 half-time advantage.

Savoy plays at Dallas Lakehill on Friday night.
