After a year competing as a club team, the Austin College men’s water polo team will transition to the varsity ranks this fall and head coach Mark Lawrence has announced that the first ever ‘Roo water polo schedule has been set.
The ‘Roos will open up with a trip to New England, taking on Brown University on September 1 in the team’s first ever varsity game. They’ll also be taking on Bucknell that same day in Providence and the following day will head to Boston to take on Harvard and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
On September 15, Austin College will be making history when it hosts Brown for the program’s first home contest, which will take place at 3 p.m. in Hannah Natatorium. The ‘Roos will play at George Washington on October 12 before competing in the Division III Eastern Championships on the campus of Johns Hopkins on October 13-14.
On October 19-20 the team will face La Verne, Caltech and Cal Lutheran before wrapping up with the MPSF Championships from November 16-18 at USC.
