AUSTIN — The Howe girls golf team finished eighth in the Class 3A state tournament with a two-day total of 791 at Grey Rock Golf Course on Tuesday.
The Lady Bulldogs were 10 shots from sixth and 15 strokes from the bronze medal. Ingram Moore won the state title with a 759, followed by Rockdale at 764 and Brock at 777.
Charlsee Carter led the Lady Bulldogs with a 184 and tied for 15th, Meradith Ross shot a 189 and tied for 21st, Molly Wilson was 45th after shooting a 209, Kriston Harris carded a 216 and tied for 51st and Peyton Streetman was 56th with a 219.
Callisburg finished 12th with a total of 896. Lindsey Bullard led the Lady Wildcats with a 181 and was 11th. Sasha Barletta finished 61st with a 225, Keela Carter shot a 237 and was 64th, Libby Wells totaled a 253 and was 67th and Chantel Crisp was 71st with a 291.
Rockdale’s Lyndy Laurell won the state crown with a 153.
The Tioga Lady Bulldogs finished tied for eighth place in the Class 1A state tournament at Lions Municipal Golf Course.
Tioga shot a combined 882 and was tied with Briscoe Fort Elliott. The Lady Bulldogs were 32 strokes from the top five. Blanket won the state title with a 732.
Peyton Moore led Tioga with a 195 to place 13th in the individual standings. Emily Adlof was 30th with a 213, Brittany Barnett carded a 230 and was 47th and Destini Maness tied for 59th with a 244.
Blanket’s Marki Kinkade won the state crown with a 152.
