BULLARD — The Howe Lady Bulldogs and the Callisburg Lady Wildcats earned state tournament berths at the Class 3A Region II tournament at Oak Hurst Golf Course on Thursday.

The 3A state tournament is May 21-22 at Grey Rock Golf Course in Austin.

Howe won the region title with a two-day total of 797 and was 58 shots in front of runner-up Harleton.

Charlsee Carter led the Lady Bulldogs with a 188 and finished fourth after losing out on a tie-breaker with Sabine’s Macy Rutland for the bronze medal.

Meradith Ross tied for sixth with a 191, Molly Wilson tied for 12th with a 205, Peyton Streetman shot a 213 and tied for 20th and Kriston Harris was 39th with a 233.

Callisburg placed third with a total of 858 and was eight strokes ahead of Hughes Springs for the final state berth.

Lindsey Bullard was the region runner-up with a 168, finishing four shots behind Chapel Hill’s Mason Garrett.

Keela Carter tied for 24th with a 221, Sasha Barletta tied for 32nd with a 225, Libby Wells carded a 244 and tied for 53rd and Chantel Crisp had a 301and was 87th.

Pottsboro finished seventh with a total of 897. The Lady Cardinals were six strokes from sixth and 13 from the top five.

Henley Foster led Pottsboro with a 206 and was 15th, Marrie Baldwin shot a 225 and tied for 32nd, Laklynn Fulenchek finished with a 232 and was 38th, Anneliese Martin shot a 238 and was 47th and Harley Ramsey had a 257 and tied for 69th.

Whitewright was 10th with a total of 923 and three strokes from ninth place.

Lauren Slough led the Lady Tigers with a 196 and finished ninth, Eva Rau carded a 214 and was 22nd, Kelsey Hodgdon shot a 248 and was 59th, Callie McGee shot a 265 and was 73rd and Alexis Tillett withdrew.

Pilot Point’s Madalyn Hollar tied for 28th with a 224.

Leonard’s Ashley Klaus finished with a 271 and tied for 79th while teammate Charlie Ashworth withdrew.

Class 5A Region I

LUBBOCK — The Sherman girls golf team finished in 13th place at the Class 5A Region I golf tournament at Texas Tech’s Rawls Golf Course on Thursday.

The Lady Bearcats shot a two-day total of 979.

Alexa Antilla led Sherman with a 200 that placed her 48th, Shelby Herndon carded a 257 and was tied for 79th, Elizabeth Adami shot a 259 and was 82nd and Channing Shea finished with a 263 and was 83rd.

Class 4A Region II

CANTON — The Melissa girls golf team finished in fourth place at the Class 4A Region II tournament at Van Zandt Country Club on Thursday.

The Lady Cardinals were one spot from qualifying for state after shooting a combined 740. Mabank earned the final spot in third with a 715. Lebanon Trail won the region title with a 656

Leah Tyner led Melissa with a 171 and finished seventh. She missed qualifying for state as an individual by three shots.

Allie Norton tied for 12th with a 178, Sydney Norton tied for 25th with a 189, Kaimberlyn Watts was 40th with a 203 and Taylor-Ann Price tied for 43rd with a 208.

Melissa’s Lindsay Bauslaugh, playing as a medalist, was 34th with a 195

Anna’s Catarina Perkins tied for 53rd with a 216.
