GAINESVILLE — Pottsboro’s Garrett Townsend won the individual golf title at the Rex Wagoner Tournament and helped the Cardinals to a runner-up team finish on Tuesday.

Townsend shot a 76 to edge teammate Austyn Reily by a stroke for the top spot as Pottsboro carded a total of 362 to finish behind champion Celina, who had a 347. Callisburg was third with a 367.

Jack Estes shot a 99, Riley Fish finished with a 100 and Nathan Halfmann carded a 110.

The Lady Cardinals competed in the Rex Wagoner Tournament on Monday. Laklynn Fulenchek and Henley Foster each shot 101 to tie for eighth place and Harley Ramsey shot a 135.
