DURANT, Okla. — Southeastern Oklahoma State men’s tennis opens the 2018 spring season picked to finish second in the conference according to the Great American Conference preseason poll.

The Savage Storm earned seven points in the poll and one of the four available first-place votes, finishing two points behind Oklahoma Baptist in first with nine points and the three remaining first-place votes.

SE posted a 10-8 record a season ago, but went 1-2 in GAC play, dropping both losses by scores of 5-4.

The Storm enter the season ranked 24th in the nation and fifth in the Central Region.

Ondrej Nice comes into his first season with the Storm ranked 49th nationally as an individual while Guillermo Pardos is the team’s leading returner with 10 wins in singles play.

Harding checked in third in the poll, followed by Ouachita Baptist.

Southeastern opens play on Feb. 15 at Arkansas-Ft. Smith and plays its first home match on Feb. 19 at 1 p.m. against Seminole State.
