The Lady Yellow Jackets play at second-place Denton on Friday night.

MELISSA — Taylor Carney had 20 points, eight rebounds and four steals as first-place Melissa clinched a playoff spot with a victory against Bonham on Tuesday night.

Ashley Gideon added 14 points, seven rebounds and three blocks, Sally Clemmons chipped in 13 points, seven rebounds, five steals and four rebounds and Natalie Conlin finished with eight points and five rebounds for Melissa (25-3, 6-0).

Averi Reeves scored 12 points and Melanee Lewis added seven points for Bonham.

POTTSBORO — Hadley Williams scored 16 points as first-place Pottsboro beat third-place Whitesboro in district action on Tuesday night.

VAN ALSTYNE — Amaya Rice scored 14 points as third-place Whitewright edged fourth-place Van Alstyne in overtime in district action on Tuesday night.

Zoe Magnuson added 10 points and Jy Johnson finished with nine points for Whitewright (16-14, 6-2).

Maegan Thomas and Harley Butler each scored nine points while Torin Reddick, Micah Welch and Emma Donald totaled seven points each for Van Alstyne (16-13, 5-4).

LEONARD — Bridget Watson had 24 points and four steals as first-place Leonard clinched a playoff spot with a victory against Commerce on Tuesday night.

Jessi Bennett totaled 12 points, 11 assists, 10 rebounds and six steals, Alyssa Davis added 12 points and nine rebounds and Katlyn Brooks scored 12 points for Leonard (23-3, 8-0).

TOM BEAN — Sara Carpio scored 20 points as Sam Rayburn defeated Tom Bean in district action on Tuesday night.

Kate Kincade added nine points and D.C. Barley added seven points for Sam Rayburn, which moved into a four-way tie for second place.

Chloe Farrer scored eight points and Jillian Beck added six points for Tom Bean (8-19, 0-6).

Collinsville 68, Bells 50

BELLS — Carrie Johnson hit six three-pointers and scored 27 points as first-place Collinsville beat bells in district action on Tuesday night.

Brittney Fields added 16 points and Gracie Cavin had four three-pointers for 12 points for Collinsville (23-5, 6-0), which can clinch a playoff spot with a win against Tom Bean on Friday.

Bella Smith had 11 points, Cheznie Hale scored six points and Charli Waggoner finished with five points and four rebounds for Bells (8-13, 3-3).

Honey Grove 46, Trenton 14

HONEY GROVE — Diavian Shaw scored 23 points as district co-leader Honey Grove defeated Trenton on Tuesday night.

Isabella Morrison added eight points and Demetria Pruitt chipped in six points for Honey Grove (18-11, 5-0).

Rikki Foreman scored five points to lead Trenton.

Irving Universal 45, Ector 43

IRVING — Sunnie Bingham scored 15 points during Ector’s district loss against Irving Universal on Tuesday night.

Destiny Whitburn added 11 points, Stormy Shockley chipped in eight points and Saakshi Pandey totaled seven points for Ector (19-6, 3-2), which fell into a second-place tie with Tioga.

Tioga 43, Savoy 15

TIOGA — Rylee Alexander had 16 points, seven rebounds and three steals as Tioga beat Savoy in district action on Tuesday night.

Brianna Bradley chipped in nine points and 11 rebounds and Destini Maness totaled eight points and 18 rebounds for Tioga (5-13, 3-2).


Dodd City 72, CHESS 20

DODD CITY — Abby Weeks scored 22 points as Dodd City topped CHESS in non-district action on Tuesday night.

Paige Granstaff added 15 points while Journie Hilliard, Delaney Pilliod and Dani Baccus all finished with 10 points apiece for Dodd City (28-1).
