McKINNEY — Jaylen Edmonson scored 17 points as Sherman opened the McKinney North Tournament with a 55-50 victory against W.T. White on Thursday.
Libby Ticknor added 10 points, Alaura Andrews chipped in eight points and Kursten Alexander finished with seven points for Sherman, which was outscored in every quarter but the third — when it had a 28-8 advantage.
The Lady Bearcats (7-13) play in the quarterfinals at 5 p.m. on Friday against an opponent that will be determined in the morning.
Denison 47, Godley 35
ARDMORE, Okla. — Zya Nugent had 17 points, seven rebounds and five steals as Denison opened the Ardmore Tournament with a victory against Godley on Thursday.
Taryn Gaines added nine points and eight rebounds, Maddi Nixon finished with six points and six rebounds and Ikia Lacy grabbed eight rebounds for Denison (18-3), which faces Ardmore tonight at 6:30 p.m. as tourney play continues.
Pottsboro 46, Sunnyvale 21
LEONARD — Haiden Williams had 14 points, seven rebounds and five assists as Pottsboro defeated Sunnyvale at the Leonard Tournament on Thursday.
Madeline O’Hanlon added 10 points, eight rebounds and four assists and Riley Westervelt chipped in seven points and four rebounds for Pottsboro.
Leonard 61, Caddo Mills 26
LEONARD — Jessi Bennett scored 20 points as Leonard defeated Caddo Mills in its tournament on Thursday.
Bridget Watson added 17 points, Katlyn Brooks chipped in 10 points and Alyssa Davis had nine points for Leonard.
Whitewright 53, Saltillo 44
LEONARD — Kayela Willis had 17 points, seven rebounds, four assists and three steals as Whitewright beat Saltillo in the Leonard Tournament on Thursday.
Gracie Robinson scored 13 points, Zoe Magnuson totaled eight points and five rebounds, Jy Johnson added five points and 13 rebounds and Emily Looney grabbed six rebounds for Whitewright.
Sunnyvale 58, Whitesboro 37
LEONARD — Piper Dunn had 15 points, three rebounds and two steals during Whitesboro’s loss against Sunnyvale at the Leonard Tournament on Thursday.
Gabbie Case scored seven points, Destiny Mack finished with seven points and seven rebounds and Casey Monk totaled four points, eight rebounds and two blocks for Whitesboro (14-7), which faces Cooper at 8 a.m. today at tourney play continues.
Caddo Mills 50, Bells 41
LEONARD — Alexis Grove scored 12 points during Bells’ loss against Caddo Mills at the Leonard Tournament on Thursday.
Haley Arledge added seven points and Bella Smith finished with six points for Bells.
North Lamar 47, Bonham 24
LEONARD — Emma Bounds scored nine points during Bonham’s loss against North Lamar at the Leonard Tournament on Thursday.
Averi Reeves, Melanie Lewis and Ari Phea all finished with six points apiece.

GAINESVILLE — Paige Granstaff scored 35 points as Dodd City finished the first day of the NCTC Tournament with a victory against Gainesville on Thursday.
Dani Baccus added 15 points and Journie Hilliard totaled 12 points for Dodd City (19-0).
The Lady Hornets started with an 84-33 victory against Alvord. Granstaff scored 30 points, Abby Weeks added 25 points and Hilliard and Delaney Pilliod each finished with nine points.

ECTOR — Jillian Beck scored 14 points as Tom Bean opened the Ector Tournament with a victory against Trenton on Thursday.
Chloe Farrer added six points for Tom Bean (8-10).
Gabby Edwards scored eight points to lead Trenton.
Ector 53, Fannindel 45
ECTOR — Sunnie Bingham scored 19 points as Ector opened its tournament with a victory against Fannindel on Thursday.
Destiny Whitburn added 16 points and Montana Johnson chipped in seven points for Ector, which faces Tom Bean today at 6:30 p.m.
Wolfe City 48, Big Sandy 45
QUINLAN — Erin Moore scored 17 points as Wolfe City beat Big Sandy to close out the first day of the Boles Tournament on Thursday.
Lauren Turner added 13 points and Dunia Russell chipped in eight points for Wolfe City (9-8), which continues tourney play against Collinsville today.
The Lady Wolves started with a 47-37 victory against the Aussie Travelers. Turner scored 17 points and Naila Soto finished with eight points for Wolfe City.
