WHITEWRIGHT — Noah Boling scored 28 points as Van Alstyne opened District 10-3A action with a 100-48 victory against Whitewright on Friday night.

Samuel Tormos added 24 points, Jackson Rogers chipped in 14 points and Austin Moore and Tyler Sperry each had 10 points for Van Alstyne, which outscored Whitewright (3-10, 0-1), 35-8, in the third quarter after holding just a two-point lead at the break.

Dylan Pitt scored 13 points, Will Stephens added nine points and Dylan Cordell chipped in seven points for Whitewright.


Princeton 78, Denison 77 (OT)

Mykel Anderson scored 21 points for Denison but the Yellow Jackets came up short in an overtime contest against Princeton in non-district action on Friday at Denison.

Dontre Flowers added 11 points and Tarrence Gaines chipped in 10 points for the Jackets (5-10), who were 17-of-35 from the free-throw line while Princeton was 25-of-47.

Denison opens District 5-5A play at Wichita Falls Rider on Tuesday.

Tom Bean 61, Blue Ridge 46

TOM BEAN — Bryce Grier had 18 points, six rebounds, four steals and four assists and Tom Bean pulled away in the second half to beat Blue Ridge in non-district action on Friday.

Ben Lind chipped in 12 points, 11 rebounds and five blocks, Blakeston Jones added 11 points and seven rebounds and Michael Cooper grabbed 11 rebounds for Tom Bean (8-7).

The Tomcats overcame an early deficit to lead 28-25 at halftime and took a 46-38 lead into the fourth quarter.

Texoma Christian 55, Dallas Shelton 45

DALLAS — Marlen Williams scored 24 points as Texoma Christian beat Dallas Shelton in non-district action on Friday.

The Eagles (11-2) led 28-14 at halftime and maintained a comfortable margin the rest of the way.

Matthew McCarthy added 10 points for TCS with Aaron Wagnitz chipping in seven points.
