Several area volleyball players were named Texas Girls Coaches Association all-state in their respective classifications for the 2017 season.

Callisburg juniors Skylar Allen, Lindsey Bullard and Macie Satterwhite were picked in Class 3A after leading the Lady Wildcats to a state runner-up finish.

Allen totaled 626 kills, 389 digs, 62 blocks and 63 aces while Satterwhite had 426 kills, 407 digs and 87 aces and Bullard handed out 1,306 assists to go with 213 digs and 60 kills.

Allen and Bullard were also named TGCA Class 1A-2A-3A-4A All-Stars.

In Class 2A, Blue Ridge senior Shelby Gerner was chosen after finishing with 469 kills, 169 blocks, 280 digs, 44 assists and 36 aces as the Lady Tigers made the region tournament for the first time.

Tioga senior Brittany Barnett and sophomore Nicole Hill were picked in Class 1A after the Lady Bulldogs reached the Region II final.
