SADLER — Jayce Howard ran for 211 yards and three touchdowns, all in the second half, to help the S&S Rams pull away from the Whitewright Tigers, 34-10, in District 6-3A (II) action on Friday.

S&S (4-4, 1-3) led the entire game but Whitewright (2-5, 0-3) was down by only four points early in the third quarter before Howard helped the Rams take control.

Cole Sloan opened the scoring for the Rams on a 31-yard run and Howard had his first touchdown later in the first quarter from 18 yards out for a 14-0 lead.

Whitewright answered with Neal Taylor kicking a 29-yard field goal as the first quarter was winding down.

Both defenses were up to the challenge in the second quarter and the 14-3 margin was the half-time score.

Whitewright started the scoring in the third quarter with Marshall Mangrum found Kylan Watson for a 38-yard touchdown pass with 8:12 left in the frame.

Howard immediately put the Rams back in front by two scores with a 39-yard run on the ensuing drive.

Howard again scored from the 10-yard line with 10 minutes left and the Rams held a 28-10 lead. Howard put the final score on the board with 4:02 left in the fourth on a 17-yard run.

Chazz Maxey added 98 yards on 14 carries and Devin Jackson finished with seven carries for 58 yards for S&S, which has the district bye this week before facing Prairiland on Nov. 3.

Taylor led Whitewright with 12 carries for 86 yards while Watson had three receptions for 49 yards and the touchdown.
