DENTON — Kiara Scott had 21 kills and 22 digs as Denison pulled out a 26-24, 25-14, 16-25, 15-25, 15-11 victory against Denton in District 5-5A action on Tuesday night.

Taylor Greenameyer added 18 kills, 13 digs and four blocks, Drew Hayes put down eight kills, Taryn Gaines chipped in four blocks, Courtney Gillespie handed out 37 assists, Kenli Powell collected 13 digs and Taylor Dawes finished with 12 digs for the Lady Yellow Jackets (20-9, 1-3), who host Wichita Falls on Friday.

Denison earned back-to-back 20-win seasons for the first time since 2004-05.

Denton Ryan def. Sherman 3-0

DENTON — Sherman’s Madi Gladen had team-highs with eight kills, three blocks and 17 digs but the Lady Cats lost to Denton Ryan, 25-17, 25-18, 25-14, in 5-5A action on Tuesday night.

Rylie Bernard and Kylie Jackman each had six kills for Sherman (24-7, 1-3) with Bernard adding 10 digs. Dallas Aleman had 22 assists and Cameron Wecker recorded 11 digs.

The Lady Cats play their third consecutive road match on Friday when they visit Wichita Falls Rider.

District 9-3A

Callisburg def. Gunter 3-0

GUNTER — Camryn MacDonald had 14 kills, seven digs and four blocks for Gunter but Callisburg defeated the Lady Tigers, 25-20, 25-13, 25-10, to gain sole possession of first place on Tuesday night.

Jacee Childers handed out 19 assists to go with seven digs, Sarah Franze collected 12 digs, Nyah Ingram added eight digs and Alyssa Jarrell finished with seven digs for Gunter (20-7, 3-1).

Ponder def. Whitesboro 3-1

PONDER — Phoenix West had nine kills and 17 digs for Whitesboro but Ponder defeated the Lady Bearcats, 25-17, 22-25, 25-21, 25-10, in district action on Tuesday.

Qyra Ressler added eight kills and 12 digs, Karlee Schuessler totaled 13 assists, 12 digs, six aces and five kills, Sierra Parks finished with five kills, four blocks and eight digs and Maggie McCorkle added 15 assists and 10 digs for Whitesboro (14-12, 1-2).

District 10-3A

Leonard def. Howe 3-0

LEONARD — Alyssa Davis had 17 kills as Leonard defeated Howe, 25-17, 25-18, 25-10, in district action on Tuesday night.

Leonard (20-8, 2-1), which gained sole possession of third place, plays at Van Alstyne on Friday

Commerce def. Whitewright 3-0

WHITEWRIGHT — Juliann Kelley had six kills for Whitewright but first-place Commerce beat the Lady Tigers, 25-14, 25-23, 25-13, in district action on Tuesday.

Jy’Rea Johnson added five kills, Kennedy Shaw collected 10 digs and Kelsey Hodgdon handed out 25 assists for Whitewright (12-15, 1-3), which plays at Lone Oak at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

District 11-2A

Blue Ridge def. Trenton 3-1

BLUE RIDGE — Shelby Gerner had 16 kills and 17 blocks as Blue Ridge gained sole possession of third place with a 25-14, 21-25, 25-17, 25-18 win against Trenton on Tuesday.

Skylar Gerner added seven kills and three blocks, Ellery Martin chipped in six kills and three blocks, Cierra Spurgin totaled five kills and four blocks, Dakota Deckard handed out 17 assists, Marlaina Morgan finished with 13 assists, Taylor Langwell collected 17 digs and Kelsie Kennon added 13 digs for Blue Ridge (10-12, 3-1).

Gracie Holden had 11 kills and five digs, Maddison Lavoie added eight kills and 10 digs, Bethany Nors handed out 14 assists and Dalila Hernandez collected 14 digs for Trenton (11-18, 2-2).

Dodd City def. Wolfe City 3-1

WOLFE CITY — Journie Hilliard had 14 kills and three blocks as first-place Dodd City defeated Wolfe City, 19-25, 25-20, 25-11, 25-19, in district action on Tuesday night.

Abby Weeks finished with nine kills and 23 assists, Sarah Brent added 11 kills, Cassandra Woodlee chipped in three kills and two digs and Madelyn Underwood totaled two digs and two aces for Dodd City (17-5, 4-0).

Bells def. Tom Bean 3-2

TOM BEAN — Baylee Stautzenberger put down 19 kills for Tom Bean but Bells rallied to beat the Lady Tomcats, 17-25, 25-23, 24-26, 25-20, 15-14, to stay in a first-place tie.

Jillian Beck handed out 25 assists to go with seven kills, Cheyanne Worley totaled five kills, five aces and four digs, Taylor Whitehurst had seven aces and Jewel Mason collected 10 digs for Tom Bean.
