BULLARD — The Callisburg and Howe girls and the Pottsboro boys golf teams all qualified for the state tournament after the final round of the Class 3A Region II golf tournament on Tuesday.

The Callisburg girls won the region title with a two-day total of 670 that was 32 strokes ahead of runner-up Chapel Hill. Brenna Ballard was the region runner-up with a score of 155 while Lindsey Bullard was fourth with a 160. Morgan Parker shot 165 and was seventh, Emma Wells had a 190 and was 27th and Tori Hawkins finished with a 202 for a tie at 40th. Kathryn Taylor played as a medalist for Callisburg and shot 179, which was good for a tie for 12th.

Howe picked up third place with a combined total of 742 and was 17 shots ahead of Sabine for the final state berth. The Lady Bulldogs were led by Charlsee Carter, who was 11th with a 171. Meredith Ross had a 179 and was tied for 12th, Peyton Groves tied for 22nd with a 188, Molly Wilson shot 208 and was tied for 47th and Anna Counts finished with a 213 and was 54th.

Whitewright finished eighth in the standings with a total of 807. Lauren Slough led the Lady Tigers with a 183 for a tie at 18th and Jolie Donaldson was at 189 and tied for 24th. Avery Moore carded a 210 for a tie at 49th, Heather Kennemur placed 64th with a 227 and Eva Rau was two shots back in a tie for 65th.

Pottsboro placed 10th with a combined 869. Marrie Baldwin led the Lady Cardinals with a 198 and was tied for 34th, Laklynn Fulenchek had a 205 for 45th, Henley Foster was 57th with a 216 and Anneliese Martin had a 250 for a tie at 79th.

Pilot Point's Stephani Pickett shot a 193 and tied for 31st.

Leonard's Charley Ashworth carded a 195 and was 33rd while teammate Katelyn Klaus had a 201 and was 39th.

On the boys side, Pottsboro's Austyn Reily won the Region II individual title after beating Troup's Jake Smelser when the two tied atop the leaderboard with a two-day total of 149.

The Cardinals finished second to Troup in the team standings after Troup shot 617 and Pottsboro had a 661. Hayden Kent was 16th with a 166, Garrett Townsend shot 169 and tied for 18th, Hayden Maines was at 177 and tied for 29th and Cade Andrews had a 216 for a tie at 74th.

Van Alstyne's Nathan Cuthbertson qualified for state as a medalist with a tie for eighth with Callisburg's Justin Crisp at 160. Crisp also qualified for state as a medalist and won a playoff for the second individual spot for state.

Van Alstyne's A team finished seventh with a combined 717. Cage Sawyers shot 179 and tied for 31st, Doak McDonald had a 182 and tied for 35th and Brock Powers tied for 55th with a 196.

Gunter finished 10th with a combined 764 and was led by Kole Gillespie, who shot a 161 to place 10th and was one shot from being in the playoff with Cuthbertson and Crisp to get to state. Austin Baker shot 176 and tied for 27th, Steele Culp tied for 66th with a 206 and Chandler Wade shot 221 and tied for 77th.

Van Alstyne's B team was 14th with an 808. Carter Morgan shot 189 and was 44th, Gage Proctor a shot back in a tie for 45th, Blaine Urban had a 195 and was 54th and Jake Wright carded a 234 and was 82nd.

Whitewright's Will Stephens shot a 196 and tied for 55th.

Callisburg's Caleb Andrews shot a 215 and was 73rd.

Class 5A Region II

LUBBOCK — Denison's Sara Shumaker shot a 96 to close out the Class 5A Region I golf tournament at Rawls Golf Course on Tuesday.

Shumaker finished with a two-day total of 193 that tied her for 43rd place.

Class 4A Region II

CANTON — The Celina boys golf team finished 12th at the Class 4A Region II golf tournament at Van Zandt Country Club on Tuesday.

The Bobcats shot a combined 725 and were led by Aristotle Terzis, who had a 171 and was 45th. Wyatt Seeyle was 55th with a 178, Colby Neidhart had a 179 and tied for 56th, Tyler Dunning was at 197 and placed 75th and Know Hall carded a 217 and was 85th

The Melissa boys were 13th with a total score of 732. Matthew Brown shot 180 and tied for 59th, Riley Boren and Nathan Foster each shot 183 and tied for 65th, Ryan Sullivan finished with a 186 and was 70th and Connor Newberry shot 196 and tied for 73rd.

Class 2A Region II

FERRIS — Trenton's Erin Wells finished in a four-way tie for 16th at the Class 2A Region II golf tournament at the Old Brickyard Course on Tuesday.

Wells shot a combined 214 to lead the four area entries in the tournament.

Honey Grove's Nicole Kirkpatrick carded a 219 and was tied for 24th.

Sam Rayburn's Kayleigh Brinlee finished with a 222 and was 28th.

Bells' Megan Hardin was 55th with a 252.

On the boys side, Wolfe City's Bowie Tanner finished in 14th place after a two-day total of 173.

Tom Bean finished 12th in the team standings with a combined 854. Hank Peeples led the Tomcats with a 187 and was 30th, Cameron Fallon had a 197 and tied for 44th, Kristian Enbysk placed 81st with a 233, Carter Khoury shot a 238 and was 84th, Kade McCarty finished with a 261 and was 90th.

Sam Rayburn was 14th with a combined score of 884. Casey Payne led the Rebels with a 189 and tied for 32nd, Coleman McCraw had a 208 and tied for 57th, A.J. Quintero had a 234 and was 82nd and Holden Reeves was finished with a 253 and was 89th.

Blue Ridge's Jason Price finished with a 197 and tied for 44th.

Bells' Nate Stephens shot a 204 and was 49th while teammate Eli Norris carded a 210 and tied for 60th.
