DENISON — He lined up on the outside and opposing tackles knew he was coming in their direction.

There were few times senior Taivian Rucker didn’t end up at his target destination in the backfield.

The Denison defensive end routinely brought havoc wherever he went to the tune of 90 tackles, 20 for a loss, nine sacks, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, a pair of pass breakups and 15 QB pressures.

Rucker was a first-team all-district selection in 5-5A, chosen as first-team all-state by the Associated Press Sports Editors and now is the Herald Democrat All-Texomaland Class 4A-5A Defensive Player of the Year for 2016.
