DURANT — Southeastern’s cross country and volleyball teams have been awarded the Great American Conference Sportsmanship Awards for their sports.
SE volleyball capped its season with a Cinderella run to the finals, which included an opening-round upset of top-seeded Harding.
The squad featured Abby Jameson, who was a second-team all-conference pick, and Caitlin Cosby, who was an honorable mention selection, while Alissa Benson and Brittney Owens were named Crafton Tull Distinguished Scholar Athletes.
Southeastern’s cross country program turned in a fourth-place finish at the conference championship meet which was hosted by the Savage Storm.
They were paced by the team’s first first-team All-GAC selection in Makayla Coppedge, who crossed in sixth place, while three other seniors wrapped their careers.
