As a number of fly-fishing events approach on the calendar, the local Red River Fly Fishers club is starting things off today and tomorrow with their annual Red River Rendezvous Fly Tying Extravaganza at Eisenhower State Park.
This year, the Jan. 27-28 fly tying event — which attracts dozens of participants from all over Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana — will take place in the Recreation Hall at Eisenhower.
Admission into Eisenhower State Park is $5 per day per person, according to event organizers, while the actual cost for the event itself is $5 per person for the weekend.
Dinner will be provided by the Red River Fly Fishers tonight while Saturday meals will reportedly be pot luck style.
If you’d like to attend this weekend’s Red River Rendezvous fly tying event, you will want to pre-register. You can do so by sending an e-mail to the club at: firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling Joe Parkes at 903-328-8232 or Jim Runnels at 903-744-2860.
